Thiago Alcantara

Just don't get some posts on here, but I respect people have different views and should be free to express their opinion. Now that's out of the way for what it's worth. I do think there is space in the squad for this guy and that he would get plenty of game time. We will be in 4 competitions next season and that in itself is a significant number of games. He would be able to rotate with yaya or on occasion with yaya further forward. Next just to add my penny's worth Barry has done well for us but as we saw in the FA cup final Wigan just ran through us. His pace or lack of it has caused us problems against decent teams and I feel he should no longer be an automatic starter. That said I would still keep him for another year unless we get offered big money for him. I know Thiago is not a defensive midfielder but we cannot afford to miss out on him. The direct replacement for Barry would be Vidal but there is no chance of getting him this window. As for departures I would say Garcia is the one that should be moved on. I would also suggest that Nasri should be moved on if we get Isco. Why would we need him if we had Isco dave Navas and yaya who can all create further forward. Buying this guy is about succession planning and his value will only increase.

Nicely taken goal in the U21 final. I'm not sure what else I can say to praise this player at this point.

That's another 5mill added to the bidding for his signature

If you mean wages then possibly. I don't think Barcelona can renegotiate his buyout clause, though.

He headed the ball into an open net... even if he didn't have a release clause, that would hardly be "5 million on his price tag" stuff. :)

Very true. :)

Barcelona are praying that he does reconsider his decision. If he does go then I don't see Tito Vilanova lasting all that long.

Right place right time... I was being sum what flippant. But the way he's playing doesn't help our cause if we have one. More clubs will be looking at him now
