To be honest I would be surprised if we arnt in for him, any club that could afford an 18 million investment for the future will be in for him, would love us to sign him and Isco, we could sign him and loan him out to get used to the league. I rate him but not sure if he would be first choice here with Rodwell, Yaya, Fernandinho, Barry, Garcia, Milner, Silva, Nasri, Navas and possibly Isco. Plus we have Suarez, Lopes, Ibrahim and Razak coming through I know Thiago is as good as most of them with the potential to improve and I know that the all play different roles in the midfield but we will only be able to play 4 or 5 of that list if Thiago leaves barca I think it will be to be first choice somewhere.

Two, possibly three of those may go soon. Probably two.

Thiago would be a phenomenal buy. Granted, we can't buy everyone, but with our Spanish and general Spanish speaking influence I think it would be a greater for both him, and us. Barry's legs are all but gone (for a full season)- Garcia isn't good enough- yaya has a few years left in him, but is hardly a young player, and didn't have the best of seasons last year. It would be a perfect time to try and get thiago. One big window would save looking for players next summer.
I believe rodwell has the ability to come good- but will he ever be injury free?
If thiago is available it would be silly to not go for him- unless, of course, our management has the upmost confidence in the other players I mentioned.

---------------------Hart-----------------
Zabaleta---Kompany--Nasty----Clichy
--------Thiago-------------Fernandhino--
---------------------Yaya----------------
Navas--------------Aguero-----------Silva

We could conceivably mix the likes of Isco/Nasri into this setup.

Drop Yaya for another striker and we may actually score goals with this.

May actually score goals? We scored the third highest amount of goals in Prem history with effectively the same squad as we have now the season before last.

Since then we've sold one of those strikers, one is waning, another is unreliable and the truly world class one spent last season off form and injured. We played two upfront too the season before. Silva rarely scores, Navas too, Thiago and Fernandinho also. Aguero is probably the least clinical striker of his level too.

The season just gone we didnt score enough and the team was far more similar to that above.

I'd love us to buy Thiago but we can't buy everyone and I would prefer Isco. Both would be great and we could free up room by letting one or more of Garcia, Barry and Nasri (in that order) go.

If you could sell Yaya and buy Thaigo with the money, would you? I would without hesitation tbh

sorry has something happened to Gareth Barry since the end of the season?

The way Thiago and Isco have linked up for the U21's I think this is a no brainer at the price and that we should go for the two of them.

isco would be the better signing (not just because we are in for him) he would, in my opinion, add more to the team. Thiago is a fantastic player no doubt, but isco should be our main target out of these two. I do hope we get both but highly unlikely, we have great youngsters coming through and signing both these players would make some of them move on and I don't think that's the way to go...

We only need a few tweaks to the team.

Isco and a striker (not cavani, only due to his price, that is just stupid money) and I think that will do us (obviously one or two might leave aswel)
