...But surely all of us as fans of City would love to know that the club is looking at and trying to sign players such as Thiago and Bale, which to be honest most of us on here have heard of. I am excited by the signings of Fernandinho and Navas, but to be honest haven't seen much of either. Navas has been linked in the past but only as suggestions on this board, never any concrete info mainly due to his psychological issues. Fernandinho hasn't been linked at all until this seasons Champions League campaign and even though he has spent eight seasons in the Ukraine there has been no mention of him as a top player on here until this season. Therefore both players carry some risk in us signing them but Bale and Thiago are no brainers, they would both improve our first team never mind our squad.

Fernandinho will improve first team and Navas will give us the wide option we have been lacking for so long. I'd say that Fernandinho improves us just as much as Thiago would.

but you could say the same for lots of big clubs - City, Chelsea, united, arsenal to name just 4 in England, plus others in Spain, Italy, Germany and France; it isn't as easy as just saying sign them up and they will come; leave the grown ups to get on with whatever they are doing, cos however needy you are will not change anything<br /><br />-- Sun Jun 09, 2013 7:09 pm --<br /><br />

In light of what is happening around you your question about ambition is quite silly but yes, it will indicate a lack of bravery in the transfer window if we are reluctant to pursue genuine world class stars like Bale, in my opinion.

You call it lack of bravery, I call it pragmatism.

For what it's worth I think Thiago will stay at Barca.

I agree with this. I would be delighted with what we have plus Isco, a decent forward (assuming 1 of Carlos/Edin leaves) and good squad back up for centre back, left back and goalkeeper

in our team the man Thiago would replace just signed a colossal contract extension a few months ago.

Thiago is a central midfielder whilst Isco is a creative midfielders, you couldn't really choose one or the other.

I would like to see Isco bolster our creativity and Thiago to replace Barry.

I agree that thiago is better than isco and i really think that isco became an over-rated here.

we dont really need this type of player (isco) because we can stay with nasri that maybe was not stable with mancini but can be a stable with pallegrini. besides he is really good player.

I think all we need is Thiago that has really good tournament here in israel and he is the anchor in spain. i would like to see him and a good 3rd CB.

hart; zaba, capitano, nasty, clichy; fernandinho, yaya toure, thiago (rodwell); silva, aguero, navas (nasri - that can be a central midfielder too).
