Thiago Alcantara

Press will have a field day, while their neighbours continue to blow money hand over fist at so called world class players, the astute Moyes following on from the traditions set by Baconface quietly and efficiently has plucked a world class midfield player from under the eyes all there rivals for next to peanuts. Moyes said we like to invest in youth that policy will continue and Thiago has always wanted to be here for the history and not money. We can offer him a first team role to ensure his development continues for the benefit of the club and himself. (Puke)

Well, if you believe SPORT's article that United are signing Thiago you should also believe their article that Barca are signing Torres. Same newspaper. :)

my feeling to he is scum bound. :-(

Sincerely hope not. I'll admit I have only seen him play on a handful of occasions, but the lad looks class. Rolls Royce of a player, glides around the pitch effortlessly and makes the game look so easy.

Imho we need cheeky to weave his magic on this one. Whoever gets him is going to have a real gem for years to come.

Thiago wants to play more ahead of World Cup. At this moment, he's more likely to leave than to stay. Offers from United, City, Bayern. [md]

Seems like playing time is the main issue for him as he needs to develop further and wants to go go brazil next summer. Don't think hell stay as barca won't be able to guarantee playing time.

Nor would we.
Instant upgrade over any CM on Uniteds team, and that is scary.

If... and I realize this isn't guaranteed... But if we play three in midfield, he's got a great shot at playing almost every game.

So hope this lad comes to us if he leaves barca... would we be able to guarantee him as much time as he would get at the swamp?

I honestly see this as one of those opportunities you have to go all in on even if there is a short term cost. If it means selling Nasri and Garcia to convince him that he will start regularly we do it. At this price and with his potential (not to mention his current abilities) he is someone that we need to go all out for--especially considering he might go to them.
