I don't want to sign raggish but United are still United, for Thiago going from Barcelona to United is far away from being a step down.

If anything he could lead United into a new generation.

The lad is future star and is already one of the best in Europe at what he does, and to be honest I am a little devestated he canot be part of our midfield in a trio of Thiago-Yaya-Fernandinho.

He's neat & tidy, takes a mean free kick & has some clever touches. Yaya & Fernandinho will shit down his fucking neck if he's centre mid for rags v us.

I watch pretty much all the Barcelona games as they are on SKY and I have see Thiago play.

I firmly believe his ability to carry the ball up the pitch is very good, his passing is top notch, can play central midfield or behind the striker.

I do think to get the best out of him he needs to be in a midfield three with a destroyer in the midfield, if United do that he will be very good for them.

I watch all the Barca games too & I've seen him play lotrs of times & he is their worst midfielder. Literally all of them do a better job than him. He has been pushed around trying to find a role, but he's shite when played deep & loses the ball in dangerous positions (as he did several times for Spain U21's when he dropped back) he's not as good out wide as any of the other options, & not in the same class as Xavi or Iniesta in their positions.

If he was 25 nobody would rate him as anything. People have decided, without knowing, that he's suddenly going to go up a huge level.

Well if he is, the place to do it is Spain, not in the Premier League.

Still think he'll go to United, it's just complicated. A United blogger said there are three options:

A) Thiago buys out his contract, MUFC pays release fee on his behalf and is now subject to income tax. (Total fee: up to 40m)

B) MUFC triggers the buyout clause and most likely subject to VAT. (Total fee: up to 25m euros due to parties involved)

C) MUFC & Barca negotiate a fee to agree on. (Total fee: could be between 18-24m euros depending on negotiations)
