Not exactly his best performance on Wednesday. He's usually a lot better than that. It's probably worth pointing out that Pirlo was just as guilty of the same thing the preceding night.

I wouldn't fancy either in the centre of our midfield in the Premier League tbh. Pirlo just showed what would most likely happen to him over here. Thiago to me just played exactly like he always has when I've seen him. Some nice touches, some shite. Iso was always miles better imo & I don't have the same adulation for him as some do.

If Pep does come, shoehorning Thiago into our midfield msy be the price we have to pay. I imagine Bayern will drop him like a stone if Pep goes & he'll end up here. Perhaps Pep could make it work in the Prem. I doubt anyone else could.

I don't think we would sign him, looking at our other midfield targets, besides, Bayern will have plenty of suitors if they try and get rid. Don't forget the lads not long back from a long term injury and should step up a few gears as he gets more minutes under his belt. If we're to sign anyone from Bayern though, Alaba, Martinez and Mueller would be the only ones I'd want, a lot of their squad are declining or massively overrated. Götze would be interesting but for me he's only effective in the hole. Silva has a good few years left in that position and is on a level I can't see Götze ever reaching now.

I think he might be Pep's pet project. So if we get Pep we may get him. Spain is where Thiago should be imo. If I was getting a player from Bayern it would be one of the veterans only. Not remotely interested in any of the others. Prefer ours.

You wouldn't take muller? Alaba? Bernat? Gotze?

Have a feeling Bayern wouldn't make negotiating one of their players a very pleasant experience.

Okay I have bumped this thread in light of the recent developments with Guardiola being rumoured to have agreed to come to our club.

The reason for the bump is that earlier in the week when Bayern played Baca in the CL, the TV commentary team were discussing Thiago and stated that he has said "Wherever Pep goes, I Go"

I though it a strange thing to say at the time but didn't read too much into it. If Pep arrives then Thiago may well follow ??
Guarantee Bayern slaps a healthy price tag on him in this scenario, given that his contract is till 2017... That being said his agent is Pere Guardiola so maybe they pull a Yaya and try to force his way out.
If Pep comes, so will he. Most Bayern fans see him as Peps boy anyway. And they are not too cool with him benching Goetze anyways. If the Pep thing is real, this is almost a certainty. Hopefully he brings Bernat too.
Add Pogba, and Sterling and its a wrap.

Bullocks. Goetze is not the goat at Bayern. He is heavily in the critics since a long time as he is not showing much.

But Thiago has been a fan favourite from the first moment on.

Fans like emotions and show. That is why Ribery had a lot fans from the stars - or Thiago - and since Wembley Arjen.

According to TZ in Germany, City were in advanced talks to sign a German midfielder, but broke them off because Pep would want Thiago.

the only one that comes to my mind is Gundogan because he plays as a CM like Thiago....

This is the guy that kept getting mugged in his own half by Barca the other night ? We want another one of those to add to our collection ?

He also is the guy that engineered the comeback against Porto.

Thiago would rip up the premier league. Hilarious the reaction to him being a potential target considering the absolute dross we've gone through since the takeover.

If we want to play like we intend, a midfielder like Thiago is a must. An absolute must. If not him then someone like Gundogan. Unless Yaya is staying of course.

Thiago and Pogba will be two of the best midfielders in the world so imagine them together. I take the TZ story with a pinch of salt though.
