Thiago Silva

It makes you wonder how much faster we might have progressed if we had someone like Ancelotti at takeover time. PSG are moving faster than we were and these signings are a huge signal of intent. I would have loved Silva at City, maybe if he gets fed up of life in Paris and fancies tropical Manchester in a year...

PSG have a history of moving fast.

It's a new club. Founded in 1970. In the mid 90's Canal+ invested heavily in the club. In 96 they won the UEFA Cup and was also ranked #1 in Europe by UEFA for a while.

So they have it in their history and DNA. To move, act and grow fast. Now they have more money than anyone, and more importantly, Leonardo and Ancelotti.

No thats still us

In many ways they are more attractive than we were 3 years ago. Runners up, already CL qualified, Paris, etc

Leonardo knows what he is doing.

Kill me for saying this, but that's the one thing City has going against it. The city.

Paris is a dirty stinky overpriced shit hole.

Can't see Ancelotti alienating the future of French football for 30 year old Alex.

If Sakho is brave enough to demand the starting spot like Hart, there can only be one winner in that dilemma.

Diego Lugano as well.

If I recall correctly he already did. Ancelotti called Sakho fat last season

We were very, very good last season... But also very, very lucky. If Kompany had been out any longer than he was and we'd be excited about having qualified for CL right now. Imagine losing Kompany and Clichy at the same time (not outside the realm of possibility)...

I try not to.

He just extended his contract and then they shipped him out !

Galliani is not a bad dealer.

Another way of looking at this, is that Galliani handed him a signing on fee in the range of millions then sold him a week later.

Galliani is a complete fucking idiot. Even Milan fans think he's a complete twat.

If the project is to be competitive in the Prem and to fall short in the Champs League, then a signing like Colocinni as back up should get the job done. However, if the project is to win the Prem on a regular basis and to be going toe to toe with the likes of Barca and Madrid, then Thiago Silva is exactly the type of signing we should be making imo. ps it's Haughton Green.

fair shout

Would like a young player who wouldnt mind being a back up but also would be looking to push lescott for his place a role savic should be playing(still think he could come good)! The problem with signing a player like thiago silva is he would expect to walk into the team, and with a fee like that who wouldnt but lescott isnt gonna be a bench warmer at this stage of his career so we would be back where we started!

I'd have Thiago Silva over Lescott any day of the week.

We're talking about one of the world's best defender here.

Can't believe a player of his caliber would just waste his talent in the French league... All the top french players leave that league and move on to stronger ones. Can't understand it tbh.

Can somebody please explain how psg are getting around ffp ,for an everyday football fan like me they look like they don't give a fuck.
Would have loved t.silva here but fair play to them for sticking two fingers up at uefa unless they know something we don't.
