Things that have p**sed you off at the Olympics

London had a hell of a fan base to draw from. Cycling is huge around Europe. So the stadium is filled with Europeans and us watching it. The same goes for Eastern Europe and weightlifting. Or wrestling. Horse dancing is popular in other countries. As is handball. Everyone likes tennis. So our venues filled up, and yes, we also gave out free tickets to school kids. End result? Mostly full stadiums. With fans from all over the world.

The vast majority of tickets for the London Olympics were sold to UK residents.

Mitt Romney (remember him?) said that London wasn't ready because of the problems with security and a substantial number of people who were planning to travel from places like the US decided against it because of concerns about terrorism.

Thought the Olympics was a protected event that had to be on a free to air channel.

Yep, and so thats why Eursport cant keep the rights exclusively to themselves.
So whereas at this Olympics bbc has say 16 different live feeds/channels all day every day, in future the will be given limited live access by Eurosport, to fulfill that legal requirement. I have seen the figure for the no of hours they have, but I cant recall it exactly - I think it amounts to approx 10 hours per day on one channel, which sounds a lot, but is actually only a fraction of what they have this time, which is 15 hours a day - multiplied across a number of channels

I agree about Dan Walker, he was decent. That fucking Claire Balding thinks way too much of herself. Darren Campbell..........ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......

There was also some annoying shouty arsehole on the diving.

On the whole, far, far too many shouty arseholes.

Balding whenever there was a horse about had a glow about her. Funny when she interviewed Tone Joshua, she wasnt used to holding the mic up like that, used to dealing with irish midgets.

The diving bloke who won a silver the other year, Leon Taylor, he just roared or shouted yes, whenever a good dive was done. You are right too many shouty cunts.

Non-stop BBC happy clapping and half of every publically-funded news bulletin crammed with Olympic coverage to bury all the bad shit that goes on every day.

BBC coverage. They need a complete root and branch overhaul of their sports presenters.
Dan on BBC4 was good. He knew the bin men who worked on the beach at night by name after a few nights and they gave him a wave every time they went past. Anthony Worral-Thompson doing circuit training every night. Copacabarbecue. All quite light hearted and funny.

76% were sold to UK residents. That figure varied from venue to venue however as the cycling had only 40% UK fans watching. Even the 100 metres final had a 50/ 50 split in the fans in the stadium.

Tickets made available to UK residents sold out in hours, it was madness, you cant really debate that if nobody else came from anywhere, it would have still sold out. My mate phoned my absolutely buzzing for having tickets to the weightlifting, he'd never been to see it before and wasnt a fan so to speak.
