Every time I see a sign saying "Heavy Plant Crossing" I always imagine a line of Triffids in the road ahead of me.

At the risk of getting a bit morbid, in my early teens the prospect of nuclear war terrified me. Everything in the media made it seem like it was almost inevitable and imminent

I was born in 74 and i guess it was about 84 ish when all this was going on and yes i too thought it was a matter of time.

Old black and white horror movie called The Pit and the Pendulum, think it was either boris Carloff or Peter Cushing in it. The pendulum was a massive axe that used to swing back and forth in a creepy torture chamber. Gave me bloody nightmares for months

Friday nights Hammer Horror films were great. Rarely was I awake long enough to see the end

The Haunting scared the shit out of me, especially this scene. I had to hide under the bed sheets as I expected the flock wallpaper to start talking to me!
