My mam used to tell me if I didn't go to sleep The Sandman would come and throw sand in my eyes.

I used to go bed fooking petrified of The Sandman. In fact all these years later I thought that it was something she made up, until now, I've just googled it and found out its a mythical character in childrens stories and he wasn't the nasty scary demon that I thought!

Why didn't she tell me who The Sandman was, she could've bought me a book at least!

I'm a bit miffed about this now.

I used to shit it from the sandman. This fella scared me to fuck!

Gonna sound daft but when I was a kid I'm 28 now I was frighten to death about the 70s especially when my brother had the radio on James Stannage and he had tremendous knowledge dave on and people used to ask him questions about the 70s used to shit me right up
