Things you hate about the UK

This view intrigues me somewhat. English has become the universal language, we're lucky that most in the UK can speak it quite well

So for them overseas, they only have to learn 2 languages as they grow up, their own and English. As such they can communicate with pretty much everyone else.

Now for our arrogant selves what do we do. Do we need to learn all the worlds languages. I suppose we could all learn French but I'm certain those pesky Spanish haven't bothered. In fact I've been to quite a few countries and only one spoke French (that was when I went to Paris by the way)

You need to visit different bars and pubs mate. There's plenty of nice bars with decent clientele in Manchester. You don't have to drink in threatening environments.

I've lived in a bilingual country since 1978 and I can just about order a ham and cheese sandwich with a beer in french.

Bizarrely I was misled by them saying in the opening lines, "This is the ‘breathtakingly stupid’ act which saw a roof worker sentenced to six months in prison ."

I cannot imagine how I was so confused. Of course if I had been arsed to read the whole thing, it might have been clear, but that would have involved reading more of the contemptible rag, which I try not to do.

Anyway, the fuckin' honours system now it's got it's own thread. I'd ditch this and just have community volunteer service. Not a single gong for doing a highly paid job, etc, etc, ad infinitum, or being one of the dahlings of the RagDIpperArseHaringeyMeedya.
