This Myth About Nigel De Jong

If anyone on here has any doubts about De Jong, then think again.

That picture like many others of De Jong tells you all you need to know about the man and the player.

Not only that, his name wasn't sung for no reason at all by us.

really???

you do know he only started 11 games in our title winning season don't you???

And how many games did we win when he came off the bench and allowed Yaya to push up? Hm?
Wouldn't we need to re watch every game to know the answer to that. Unless someone does, if they do I will be stunned. He started 11 and came on in another 10 so that's 21 games with 10 where "maybe" he came on to allow yaya to push forward not counting QPR as yaya was injured or Wigan, Everton, Fulham due to ACON. So that would be 6 games left where he cam on to allow yaya to push forward and a total of 17 games where maybe he was there to allow this and it also worked

Look like dentures to me! Nige was one of my favourites, and undoubtedly an influential character within the squad but we have to look forward not back, starting with Leeds on Sunday. Big big game.

Getting fed up of all this talk about one of the main reasons
we are where we are in the league this year is due to the sale of NDJ.
What utter rubbish.
De Jong was a bit time player for us last year just like Balotelli was.
People are making out that this guy was the main reason why we became champions
He was in his last year of his contract and we moved him on.
Was not poor but was not great either.

Fookin damn site better than the arsehole called garcia - fookin clueless

Absolutely love De Jong. We were mad to let him go. Mad. No one can say Garcia is an improvement in any way shape or form (good luck to him though).

De Jong was an average player.

For the record:

We have conceded the LEAST goals in the league

WE have the HIGHEST average possession.

At least you were polite mate ! I can and am saying that Garcia is a better player than Nigel de Jong !! Why is Javi Garcia getting slated and not the likes Hart and Barry ? As for the tub thumpers posting pictures of an angry NDJ, so wot !! It don't prove anything. Would De Jong get in the creme de la creme ( eg Barca ) because he's a tub thumper ? Of course not, coz at the end of the day skill, technique and brain are far more important than running around like an arsehole. Let me give you a quote " tackling is the least important skill any footballer can have ". That quote was made by a famous Italian footballer some years ago, who played for a country that has the best defensive record in international football. Next you '' be telling me that Paul Dickov was better than Trevor Francis !! (LOL ).

Oh yeah and if someone's gonna come on spout the usual 'Garcia is shite' can you at least give us an appraisal of why ? I will give you a reason for saying he is not. He is a far more technically competent footballer than NDJ will ever be. He has scored more Premiership goals for us already than NDJ and he played in a midfield that conceded zero goals in 6 games in January, for which his role was to protect the back four. I would call that success but maybe I'm not as clever as others !

At the end of the day it all comes to down to players interlocking into different formations.

As already stated the introduction of NDJ helped us at Newcastle in particular. He was also a master at breaking down opposition counter attacks, especially from corners when goalkeepers caught the ball and were looking for a quick throw to the left wing.

Garcia is an adequate replacement and offers more from set pieces.

NDJ wasn't the major reason why we won the title, but equally he wasn;t a myth.

Listen on - to most on here Paul Dickov is a fookin hero and a legend - you obviously do not agree.

Trevor Francis - almost as over-rated as Gerry Daly.

We are a mere shadow of last years side, the loss of NDJ is a loss no matter what you think and all of the replacements apart from Nasty are mere journeymen.

When we had the golden opportunity to move forward as champions and strengthen the team we flumped it bad time. If you cannot see that I suggest you might need to go to specsavers.
