You can laugh about it, but ultimately it is the truth. Just, because it is very hard to compare players in different positions does not mean it is impossible.

I repeat, who here questions whether Toure is better than Green as a player? Who here if I said it is impossible to compare whether Silva is better than Clyne would agree with me? So we can all agree that when there is a gap even players in different positions can be compared and everyone does so. When the gap is small then it is becomes increasingly difficult to compare the two. It is the same for comparing players across different eras.

At the end of the day RVP is arguably the best striker in the world. Hart is not arguably the best keeper in the world. RVP is without doubt World Class. Hart is not without doubt world class. If you were putting together a 23 players from Earth to face Mars, then RVP would probably be in squad for most people. Hart would not.

I have agreed when the comparison is between the likes of Toure and RVP then the gap is so small that it is hard to compare and the difference in positions makes it near impossible.

I'm intrigued to know who would be on the Mars teamsheet

You have a point somewhat but the bold is just bollocks

Player A is the best X in the world.
Player B is the 4th best Y in the world.
(According to your logic) therefore Player A is better than Player B

Like I said, bollocks.

No that's not the only thing I said, but these are indicators. I also said RVP is undoubtedly world class and Hart is not undoubtedly world class, which ultimately is the most important thing. I do agree that for instance the 4th best X is not necessarily better than the 6th best Y.

World Class meaning what? Get in the Earth squad?

but then squads usually have more forwards than GKs

Hart would be 3rd choice in my eyes, whilst RVP would miss out on the 3 forward slots.

My front 3 would be out of Messi, CR, Neymar and Falcao. Rooney would also get in my squad before RVP. RVP's a decent shout for a 5 forward squad but then I doubt you can name 5 GK's better than Hart.

Disappointing to walk in and see united score an injury time winner but let's be honest. We come back on a regular basis and I think that we can really improve on our start to the season. United look shaky and I can't see them drastically improving.

For me world class definitely means get into an Earth squad and I usually extend into the top 5 or so in the world for their position. I give a bit of leeway to positions where they are 2 players in that role ie centre backs, central midfielder, strikers.

If you honestly think that then I can see why you would say impossible to compare the two.

For me Buffon, Neuer, Casillas, Cech (makes a lot more mistakes now) are all better than Hart. There are others, who are just as good. While RVP in my opinion alongside Falcoa is probably the best out and out striker.

Anyway nobody is going to agree on this. We will just be arguing over it all day.

As for the Mars team. I am not sure. I guess the Martian Manhunter and family. Only guy from Mars I have heard of.

Fuck em. Concentrate on what we're doing and nothing else. Fuck hoping they'll drop points here and there. They're going to drop 6 against us.
