David Silva created 106 chances for his teammates at City last season. That was #1 in the Prem ahead of EVERYONE!

Mata scores more goals but he's in the box more. At City it infuriates me when every shouts "shoot" (when there are three men between him and the goal) "why doesn't he fucking shoot?"!

Totti had a better goals/game ratio than Zidane in his career but who was the better player?

Nobody is man marked in the Prem as much as David is.

No one is saying Mata is better than Silva, but over the last 9 months, who has played better?

Mata is a goal threat while Silva looks scared to shoot. Look at his penalty against S'Ton, He just doesn't look comfortable shooting the ball. Mata has been playing better than Silva and that is true.

Mata had been always a Striker/2nd striker, Silva isn't.
Mata plays in the 3 behind the main striker. Silva does too. They are both attacking midfielders. Of the 3 creative Spaniards in the league, Silva may be the smartest, but Carzola and Mata are superior goals threats. They have always been. Even when they all played in Spain. Why we bungled getting one of those 2 (if not the 2) still buggles my mind. On both occasions, the players were certain to move, we were looking for an attacking player, failed to get who we wanted and yet ignored the 2. What a bungle :(

They've still not been given a test on the pitch in the league yet. On paper, probably, but not on the pitch.

Seriously? Arsenal at the Emirates and Spurs at WHL? (Who haven't lost a London derby there in god knows how long?).

This is EXACTLY like last season with us. The similarities really are scary. One team clearly better than everyone else, getting great wins at tough places, same old shit totted out "Not been given a test yet", pretty much to the point of parody.

Talent is not what will halt this Chelsea team. They have enough quality to beat anyone, even us, people need to accept this. What will make the difference is staying power. How many leagues have the shite won just by grinding through the winter better than anyone else? How will they handle the multiple competitions, assuming they're looking to go deep into all of them? We nearly screwed it up at the same point last season.

Sounds exactly the same as everyone talking about us last season before we went and humiliated United in their own back yard. And we all know how that turned out in the end.

They now have the same amount of points after 8 games as we did last season. They've beaten Arsenal at Arsenal (who we couldn't beat at home), and now Spurs at WHL.
Simply put, they have more creative players than anyone in the league. Mata, Hazzard, Marin, Moses, the Brasilian, and Sturridge. Is just more attacking verve than anyone else in the league can muster. Can they falter? Sure (we did last season for a while) but make no mistake, they are the most talented team in the league, no question!
Difference between most 'talented' and best though.
Best will be decided on the pitch. But most talented suggest's best chance. And right now.

Whoever finishes above these will win the league. Fact.

Er, no.

Whoever finishes above these will win the league. Opinion.

What you say might be true if they continue to play like this all season. However, that will very likely not be the case. Usually teams have a bad spell and it's how/whether they bounce back from it that matters.

That said, we really DO NOT want to be 7 points behind by 5pm.

Christ. We we're 8 points behind United with 6 games to go last season and still won the league.

Correct.

2-1 down to Spurs at Spurs.

I'd consider that a test.

You're all clutching at straws.
Really clutching! On the road at Arsenal and SPurs. Teams that have gone to United and City and come away with points. And they have notr been tested? That is just a silly comment to make. Perhaps they are so good right now, that nothing looks like a teat. I remeber City looking that good at the beginnning of last season, and no test would have mattered. Battered Spurs and United at theirs. And they ended up 2 and 4th respectively.

Sometimes you are just playing so well, that the opposition doesn't matter.

Agreed,

Although beating Spurs without Bale and Dembele is not much to right home about. Chelsea surrendered a lead by awful defending then Mata stole the show by embarrassing Walker and Gallas (who with a goal and 2 assists also had a busy day)

I know where are they playing now, but Mata at Real Madrid and then at Valencia was a striker .
Mata has the goal in his mind and Silva doesn't. As simple as that.
Silva is more creative and always is looking for the pass.
They are different players, despite being used in similar roles in their clubs now.
