any one remember the start they had under big Phil?
Yes and Scolari like AVB was screwed by trying to change their style too quickly. He was also hurt by their failure to get Robinho to change his style.

Di Mateo on the other hand is lucky in that the old guard no there time is over. Drogba going was the biggest sign of it. So he won't have the fight AVB had. The whole team is built to play the style of football he wants, where as this was not the case for Scolari. As I said before don't think Chelsea are quite ready to beat United and City often enough, with their new style to win the league, but they will be close. If their other signings hit the ground running and Terry/Lampard gracefully accept being dropped then who knows.
Di Mateo is just lucky full stop. A piss poor manager at WBA he must be pinching himself
Thought he was unlucky to get the sack to be honest.

if chelski have improved 25 points since last season I will streak down deansgate on the last day of the season

They looked solid at the back against Newcastle because Luiz came in for Terry.

Think newcastle suffered from playing on Thursday. Largely different players, but Cisse played in both games. He was very quiet.

CFC getting the luck at the moment through pen decisions. their general game is not that impressive.

The team that are impressing me is Everton, but Villa were abject and stood a mile off hem so maybe that's a totally false view.

Crucial game for City. Lose today and we'll come under a lot of pressure. Get a result and we'll be ahead of Utd with a winnable home fixture ahead of us, and a difficult away game out of the way.

Stoke 1-1 Arsenal
Liverpool 2-0 City

I just think Liverpool will be really up for this, and City need to play De Jong

Being up for it and having the players to carry it out are two different things Marvin, they were up for it at Klanfield last year and scraped a draw due to the lescott deflection..Kuyt and Bellamy will be sorely missed.. No agger either.

we can win today.

Prepare for the usual "up our game but play shit against other teams" Allen will play like Kaka in his prime just for us.

Giroud really can't get anything going, they're going to have to worry about him, maybe he just hasn't settled but he looks off the pace. Cazorla is completely as advertised, what a deal they got in getting him.
