Thogden

You get Primemutton on YouTube doing most games, and a few other bits and pieces too. He’s alright, I was next to him at an away earlier this season.

He’s more grown up than most YouTubers…
He's a top bloke.
I cant believe he sits near us in the cheap seats in 318,all the travel and spending pre game he does yet he sits near us.

I can see why Thogden irritates people because he's young and excitable and seems to be living the dream. But I'd agree with you that he's effectively a sports journalist - just one who works for himself with a core audience that's much younger than most other broadcasters.

Young kids want to know about the best games and the best atmospheres so he'll bring them our big games, Napoli games, the Yellow Wall etc. Yeah he doesn't rave about us - he seems to support every club and no club - but the videos he's done following our away support in Europe have been respectful imo.

In his way he's doing the sport a service because he's getting across the excitement of matchgoing to a young audience. In his line of work I'd imagine that if you have to pay over face value for a ticket you'll pay it, so, annoying as it is to just know he'll be at any game Blues have struggled to get tickets for, I keep an open mind over whether he's 'depriving' ordinary fans - someone is always going to pay silly third party prices sadly.

He's been working at it since a young age so fair play to him. I suspect it isn't as easy as it makes it look and as with all people who seem to have it all, you never really know how much they're making or what pressures they're under. When another YouTuber did a video alleging Thogden is 'most hated' after World Cup his dad (ex-Tory councillor from Alty) took it very badly according to reports. I've ended up being very au fait with it all as my youngest wouldn't dream of watching kids telly anymore and City Xtra, Thogden, AFTV, Vizeh etc are his TV bread and butter.
He’s not a sports journalist, he’s a blogger/YouTuber. If he was a proper sports journalist he could gain accreditation through proper routes and not have to buy highly inflated tickets.

Of all of these type of vloggers I actually think Pegg (Manchester girl who supports Napoli but does a lot of City games):

And this Thogden lad actually do a great job of dispelling the myth of the Etihad being empty and having a shit atmosphere:

Their videos highlight our atmosphere really well and in many ways I think they do more than the club actually do to promote our fans, fan culture and atmosphere.

And I’d rather have them in the ground looking a right pair of Charlies talking to themselves on their phones than the miserable **** behind Thogden in that^ video in the white hoody who looks like he’d rather be anywhere else in the world than the Etihad for the biggest Premier League game of the season (he’s even sat down looking miserable as sin when the second goal goes in, at least Thogden’s getting excited).

And give me these two and their videos over the likes of the Forest fan acting as a United fan in some bunker, Arsehole TV sat in a studio or the Irish Cultists sat at home, any day. And give me these two in our ground over all the daytrippers who aren’t even interested in City winning, who are just there for the occasion or who are even fans of the opposition in the home end with their half’n’half scarves and their United merchandise bags tucked under their coats from their visit to Old Trafford and the United museum that they’ve been to earlier in the day.

Not ideal, as they push proper Blues down the pecking order and i would rather have proper Blues there, but there are far bigger issues with worse visitors to the Etihad who are also getting in ahead of proper Blues.

In my day it was Rag Tag and Bobtail, the Wooden Tops and Champion the Wonder Horse. The screen could of been more than 5” by 6”

When I was a nipper you only got to watch TV if you went round someone else's house.

I watched the 1963 final on a tiny TV with a roomful of Levenshulme neighbours. The famiy with a TV only watched the match because it was "a Manchester team in the final". How times have changed

People have things far too easy nowadays. Everything on a plate.

There used to be two City guys with forums on youtube I used to follow..one was a guy who always wore Raybans and a slightly chubby guy with a beard..I believe they worked together but had a falling out..enjoyed their comments but seem to have disappeared. I liked them as they were true Blue and not completely professional like this guy Thogden, who in effect is an interloper out to make a few quid. I do love City Shirts and he was always at matches,on TV with his son and does brilliant interviews..But he is Blue through and through..I do find AFTV and The Flying Pig hilarious, but wish some Blue could match those earlier guys.
If I remember correctly, both of those guys were on here around the time they had a falling out.
I also seem to remember that one of them was very much a wrong un.
Apologies if I’m remembering wrongly.

Back in my day, it was Blue Peter, The Clangers, Magic Roundabout, Ask Aspel, Magpie etc etc.
I really wanted to be on Jim'll Fix It (gulp!) Never missed an episode on my folks wooden Baird

Take your point, but he is producing content for football fans. If we were ten years old we would think he was a top guy. We're not the target demographic so we're a bit more sceptical.
