"You've gotta fight ,for your right, to Parteyyyyyy " !!!!
We dont know that at all. They could have just searched for "person in handcuffs" and used the first one they found without thinking of colour of skin. It’s completely unnecessary. The point is that someone has decided to put a photo with someone in handcuffs up and will have consciously decided not to put a black person in handcuffs in the photo.
Why not simply put a photo up that doesn’t show anyone in handcuffs?
This has PISSED ME OFF
So his contract ended Monday and now the CPS finally announce he has been charged with rape.
This has been an open “secret” for years
But Arsenal get to be dissociated from it?!
I make no comment on the charge as await trail but the announcement of it is PROPER BENT
Me too, it’s a cancer on society but shit like this only accentuates it I’m afraid, and gives white racists a stick to wield.
Someone will have made a conscious decision to put that photo there, not because they are prejudiced against white people but because they are crippled by crushing fear about depicting a black man being arrested in a case where a black man has been charged with rape.
It would have been far more sensible to deploy a photo which simply didn’t depict someone being arrested, especially as it’s possible that Partey may not have been handcuffed at any point.
Stop with this fucking nonsense. He might have allegedly raped 5 women and destroyed their lives forever but here you are acting like City have been victims. Then again I am not shocked there are people with no empathy. The media at large have known about it since then, where was their uproar about it ?
Silly me................... redshirt club imunity applies.
CPS, rather than the police, surely?Well known about for years..
Why wasn't he charged until after his contract ended I just don't get it at all this is really piss poor policing, I'm not being conspiratorial here as with all due respect it's been over 3 years since the accusations first came out.
We've won 3 Premier League titles since the police have know, and even time to recently lose our title to the dippers.
Maybe some will say Mendy being dragged through the mud means this is the reason it's been kept quiet, still though this case was fully known about for a very long time.
This has been far too long to wait to convict him there can be absolutely no excuses, for it to have taken this long to actually charge him is a joke whether he's guilty or innocent.
Surely gathering evidence doesn't take them over 3 years before actually charging him? So quite honestly the only explanation is they're bone idle lazy, the lack of haste with this case is not only concerning it's an absolute disgrace.
I'll say it again we've won 3 titles and had enough time to lose our title, since the police first knew about these allegations against Thomas Partey.
Prison hopefully...Gosh. I guess plenty in the industry new this was coming as he was a fairly regular starter for them last year and with his contract up there's been little chat about where he's going.
No party for partey."You've gotta fight ,for your right, to Parteyyyyyy " !!!!
The fact that the BBC are reporting this asBut the press will say nada.
So I was correct. He never played for City after he was arrested / charged.“What the vast majority of people would not have known at the time was that the player wearing City’s No 22 shirt was under police investigation for allegedly raping a woman at his house. The crowd that day would not have realised Mendy had been arrested the previous November. But the people in charge at City knew — and, as we now know, decided against suspending their player”

Why did Manchester City let Benjamin Mendy play on?
The Manchester City left-back was charged with four counts of rape last Thursday, nine months after he was first arrested by policewww.nytimes.com
Of course not; no way that the Met are corrupt, or that, say, Sir Keir has any influence. Not saying it's the case, but to think it couldn't happen is incredibly naive!I doubt the police are part of the "Redshirt Cartel".
I'm still fuming at this. Surely we had someone at the club do some investigating behind the scenes to check how likely it would be that he had done something wrong. And it seems there's stuff out there that indicates he's on a sticky wicket.
We should have, at that stage, not picked him. We could have still kept paying him so not in breach of contract but just not played him because, you know, some things are more important in life than winning fucking football matches.
Arteta is a husband and a father. He has his wife's initials tattooed on his ring finger and kisses those initials before every match to show he's thinking about her. Yet he'd surely have been told by club insiders that 'Mikel, it seems there's stuff out there that indicates that our DCM is a rapist scumbag. Or at least there's a decent possibility he is'. You know, like rapist scumbags who rape people's lives and daughters and ruin their lives. Yet it would appear the club have prioritised something else.
This will blow up massively. Firstly much of our fanbase is fuming. The players must also be thinking what the hell is going on and why have we been playing this guy and even trying to extend his contract seeing as someone internally must have had a good idea as to what was going on? And what kind of club even accepts this? And do they want to associate themselves with such a club?
I think Arteta needs to go now. And a full investigation internally as to what the club did and didn't know. Heck, the club celebrated our ladies side winning the Champions League. Yet we don't extend them the 'respect' of not playing someone who is under investigation for rape and, on the balance of probabilities is guilty of something. Maybe he's 'not guilty' in the same way as Mason Greenwood 'wasn't guilty' but that stinks and we should never accept that. This must not get brushed under the carpet.
It does surprise me mate. I genuinely thought we'd be better than that. I know there's little love from City fans for Arsenal after the letter writing incident but we were always known as the 'Bank of England club', classier and more ethical than our loopy neighbours down the road.I don't believe that nice people run clubs, their only concerns are profit and winning specially at bigger clubs.
It doesn't surprise me that your board on the face of it did fuck all mate, and at the end of the day it shouldn't surprise you either.
The fact we fired our kit man of 20 years for criticising Israel but played Partey for 3 years after the accusations were made is revolting. The timing does seem a little odd, and I think Arsenal as a club, and Arteta personally, have handled this terribly. “You can’t buy class”, eh. Probably best not to comment further until his case is heard and a verdict is given though.
I imagine he's just had one party too many....Imagine he’s been refusing to sign a new contract now he’s got no club and 5 rape charges..
I fully understand your anger, especially with regards him still playing.I'm still fuming at this. Surely we had someone at the club do some investigating behind the scenes to check how likely it would be that he had done something wrong. And it seems there's stuff out there that indicates he's on a sticky wicket.
