Thoughts on the Academy in City's Future

Re: What's the Point of the New Campus/Academy?

What City are doing, is giving kids the best coaching & facilities in football, an education to cover them if they don't make it in football & are trying to find jobs in football for all the kids who don't make it at City.

Those who do, will play at one of the best clubs on the planet & get paid a fucking fortune to do it.

So I would say anyone who prevents their kid going to City, is an absolute fucking knobhead & should probably get a visit from social services.

What's the point of this fucking thread.

The op is taking the piss yeah or does he just want to go back to Platt Lane to train and be in the old 2nd Division.
Just to clarify for you I did not create this thread title I think it was split off the campus thread by Damocles ? .it makes it look as if I'm slamming it when the original debate was do you think better facilities would equate to more home grown players in the first team or are we at a point where success dictates we carnt give them a game the other point was what would you advise your son to do if he was a talented child footballer

What would I advise my son? I'd advise my lad to follow his dreams as I already have. He realised he wasn't going to be a footballer quite some time ago (he is 14 now) so he has decided to study sports science. I am delighted.
If he was going to be a footballer?? I'd tell him to go to whoever is offering the most money?
Just interested I guess city will pay the most but worst chance of a break through .would you take this over a better chance at a mid table team and ultimately been bought by city on mega bucks Like ross Barclay for example ?

The post was written in a temper and I agree not well punctuated .but except criticism. Still feel the same things tho.what dramatic improvement do people see coming from the new facilities ? Was thinking about a team coming through examples of which barca greatest ever rags 92 .but even these 2 now are going down the marquee signing route.just find it strange we are getting excited about city morphing into everything we despise about the rags

To be honest mate and I say this in all sincerity, you need to pack watching football in, you are not enjoying it as it's meant to be enjoyed it's affecting your mental health causing you anxiety, depression and no small amount of anger, the thing you are powerless over such matters you either go with the flow of the game or you get out of it, resistance as they say is futile

Best of luck anyway

Personally - I think he needs a fuck! Just saying like.He has a lot of tension built up..He needs to let it out!! :-)

No,because even at the mid table, lower league teams, only a very small % make it. Take the money and run...

Your post is 100% correct.yes I am powerless over things but I'm entitled to an opinion and was finding out what others felt the academy would bring to the table.I hope I'm wrong and others are right and the team is full of 11 home grown players and city dominate.but lets not turn into what I've spent a life time hating !

I like dolphins, Dolphins swim in water, water is wet, wet is opposite from dry, dry rot is bad, bad is opposite of good, good news is better than bad news, news can be seen on TV, TV is type of electronics, electronics are made in Korea, Korea is better than a job, Job rhymes with Bob, Bob had a ball, balls aren't always round, wtf are you on about?
