Three dead in Belgium

'Herman, who was serving a 17-year sentence in Marche prison for drugs and theft convictions, was given 36 hours’ leave on Monday evening to stay with his grandmother in the town of On, near Marche-en-Famenne.

Since being imprisoned in 2003 he had completed 11 one-day release permits and 13 two-day periods of leave without problems. Investigators are examining whether he could have been radicalised in jail.'

Yeah, he could have been. They'll have to be further evidence though.

Not left and right, just right and wrong. The vast majority of Jihadi terrorist attacks occur in countries who have not bombed anyone and have no semblance of foreign policy. You'd think the fact that this latest attack has occurred in Belgium might be a clue for some people.

Belgium sent six F-16's to support the coalition fight against Daesh in Iraq in 2015. Involved in Resolute Support in Afghanistan doing counter IED work amongst other things - involved in Operation Desert Falcon providing support to the Dutch airforce in Iraq - training Iraqi forces as part of Operation Valiant Phoenix -I'd say Belgium have bombed quite a few people in the Middle East - whether they have a foreign policy or not they have waded in with the rest - this info might be a clue as to why Belgium.

There were several terrorist attacks in Belgium in the years before 2015 (thankfully many more prevented than carried out), including one in a Jewish museum in 2014. If you're justifying people murdering innocent Belgians because they removed IEDs, a weapon banned under international law, that maims hundreds of civillians year-on-year and for having the temerity to help train the soldiers of another nation state, then you honestly want to have a long hard look in the mirror and rethink what kind of person you are.

who said I was justifying anything? I was just pointing out you were incorrect and that Belgium HAVE been involved in the Middle East debacles and if fact their involvement goes back to Desert Storm in 1991. This all arises out of the suggestion that such involvement resulting in Islamic terror attacks should not be a surprise. I'd love for you to show where I have justified terror attacks in Belgium ( though I accept research isn't your strong suit.)

What about all the Yazidis in Mesopotamia? What about Christians in Egypts or atheists in Iraq and Syria? What about non-fundamentalist clerics in Afghanistan? Whose foreign policy justified all these people to be killed? Islamic terrorism in Europe is an absolute fraction of what it is globally. These attacks would be going on whether or not we helped or hindered another Muslim country, that's what you need to get your head around.
