Thrown out for smoking- Help!

this subject always makes me laugh

the smokers decide to break the ground regs they get punished and come on here moaning all the smokers and even some non smokers are then sympathetic

however this rule is in place for a reason and just like any fan who breaks the ground regs they should be banned and smokers have had enough chances it is about time the club stopped this once and for all

they should just say anyone caught smoking in the ground are in fact putting the clubs licence to operate at risk will in future be banned for life

and I would ask all the smokers how they would like it if I picked a ground reg to ignore ie bringing a knive to the ground or being racist

.....or standing during a game or singing a song someone might find offensive or swearing.....

We have to be careful what we wish for sometimes mate as before too long, we will have to sit in the seat and buckle up the seat belt with polite applause the only way to celebrate if some had there way.

I don't smoke but i respect the wishes of those that want too. No problem with a ban indoors but a place in and around the stadium could and should be found for those that want a fag.

I smoke. I don't smoke at the game, no more than I would go to someone else's house and spark up. It's not difficult to show a bit of consideration and respect for other people and do without indulging in our frankly stupid habit for two hours

NO mate, your words specified that it is an inevitable fact. You presumed I will have a heart attack or cancer. If you didn't you would word your sentence differently. It's your smuggness which is most galling though.

You clearly are not understanding the word causal link which I have said numerous times. It's been proved in numerous scientific journals and verified by a huge range of research. I never said it was inevitable, in fact I said medicine is a numbers game. Why wouldn't I be smug when someone who brands my healthy lifestyle pointless then pays the price for their lifestyle that despite numerous warnings of both me, others and the government and even the fag companies they chose to ignore it.

End of the day I don't feel bad when I hear an alcoholic has died of liver cancer/failure. I don't feel bad when a druggie dies of an overdose. I don't feel bad when somebody has a heart attack form obesity. Why should I feel any different to somebody who has been completely selfish and ended their life prematurely leaving the loved ones behind despite being told over and over again?

I'm not being ignorant if i don't reply again tonight, I'm going to bed.

I'm with you. I never feel bad either when i hear of joggers/athletes keeling over and having a heart attack before they reach middle age. Proper rib tickler that one.

Next you'll be telling us that no athletes use banned substances when in reality the best performers are upto their eyes in steroids. Literally the case with Ben Johnson.

See, it's easy to make sweeping statements isn't it?

-- Tue Mar 01, 2011 1:13 pm --

And as a smoker i'm with you Longsight with this ^

It's no big deal to refrain for an hour or two.

Going to the toilets at COMS these days is not only intimidating, it's a health hazard.

Too many 'cool as fook' 'look at me, I'm bucking the system'.

They even have spotters, until the big black lad went in on his own the other week and all these weasles shat themselves.

Right, I know I shouldn't have been smoking but... I've never had a word said to me before at half time but today I was told to leave and had my seasoncard taken from me. Does anyboday know when I will get my seasoncard back or shall I ring/email the club?

I read the posts most days on here but have never registered until now.
This lad is asking a simple question (does anyone know when i will get my seasoncard back) he has not asked for a lesson in smoking. Right or wrong on the issue does not matter he asked a simple question.

1 in 2 lifetime smokers will die because of smoking.

Tails!

ps - If people want to smoke, they should do it in the 110 toilets. There are usually a couple of hundred real men smoking in there and every time the police try and grab anyone, the place goes ballistic so they just don't bother anymore.

May I add that is smoking is wrong and people shouldn't do it. But it does keep my mind off touching animals so you win some, you lose some.

-- Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:10 pm --

Adding a little levity to the debate, I was at Stoke away last season, and went to the bogs at half time, and a bloke with a ciggy in his hand said "I think it's disgusting, all these blokes getting their dicks out whilst we're trying to smoke". Proper made me chuckle.

Could have been me if it was a tall, handsome, very short haired guy.

I make that joke at every game. But I am funny like that.
