Thrown out for smoking- Help!

How come they targetted you OP? Surely if you were on the spirals there were lots of others around you also smoking?

There was quite a few smoking and I think there was 6 or 7 threw out. In my defence i've smoked there for years now and no-one has said a word to me. But I suppose i'll just have to face the music!

3 game ban and a sorry letter to Fletcher is the usual course of action.

do this^^^ and make up some crap excuse for the reason you were doing it and apologise a lot

Dear Mr Fletcher
On Sunday at half time of the Fulham game I had my season card confiscated by a steward and I was ejected out of the stadium for smoking. If I may I would like to clarify exactly what happened.
At half time I felt extremely dizzy and a little claustrophobic so I decided to stretch my legs, have a walk to the spirals and take in some fresh air. Also I thought I could have a really good look at the building work being carried out next to the East car park.
When I reached the spirals I could hardly believe that there were people smoking, I was furious.
I protested to a smoker and told him to put out his cigarette straight away and he refused. I moved toward him but stumbled as I still felt a little dizzy from my claustrophobia. The smoker pushed me and somehow I managed to knock the cigarette out of his hand, but bizzarely it landed filter first in my mouth. The smoker then ran away and as I turned round a steward was there and that's when my S/C was confiscated.
I understand that being on the spiral slightly off balance and with a cigarette in my my mouth will have made me look like a drunk who was ignoring the correct rules and regulations of CoMS, but this is exactly what happened.
I hope you will take my word that this is the truth and you will send my season card back to me.

Thanking you for your understanding in this matter

Right, I'm not a smoker, and hate it when they light up in the bogs at half time, especially when I take my little one.
However, if you got caught, the stewards have no right (or legal power!) to search you for your access/seasoncard. Not even the cops can do this if they're called, for exactly the same reason. They do however have the right (and legal power) to eject you though.

You have my genuine sympathy mate.

Its just wrong that its so arbitary and random. Either everyone gets done or no-one gets done.

I was smoking on the spirals at h/t and two stewards walked past and one smiled at me. Whereas they threw you out. Its daft.

Same here. It's deeply ignorant. Ironically, my coat / shirt now smells of cigarette smoke more after I go for a piss than when smoking wasn't banned at Maine Road.

whats wrong with smoking on the spirals at halftime??..its virtually outside anyway,in the bogs i can understand..but some of them sucurity minimum wage workers(not the stewards)think they run the place there like little hitlers and its not going to be long before one of them gets knocked the fu@k out.

As an ex smoker (theres nothing worse is there smokers) I find the smell, disgusting when it stays on your clothes, I also refuse to breathe your second hand smoke breath in the bogs, and have been a bit heavy handed in the past in the bogs over being breathed on with smoke.

I don't agree though, with not being allowed to smoke on the spirals. Why can't there be, some sort of designated smoking area at the farthest point from the entrance doors on them? It's more outside than in anyway! This would stop 99% of the pricks who smoke in the bogs, while kids are in there.

Or just have bogs for kids!

Sense at last.
Have a designated smoking area on the spirals for levels two and three and a compound fenced off at set places behind the four stands for those on level one.
No smoking in the bogs, easy to steward (cutting down on hassle for the stewards etc), and fewer City fans being pissed off with our club.
Oh and those that do not need the weed do not have to breathe in second hand smoke.

Another smoking post - how exciting.

Its been said over and over again and was even brought up in a points of blue meeting - the council have stipulated that there is to be no smoking at all on/in its premises. This applies to every council property - offices, the Town Hall, COMS - everywhere.

MCFC have no say and not stopping smokers breaks the T&C's of the lease.

So there's no point saying that smokers should be allowed here or there - it's banned and that's it. So don't do it. If you can't manage without one don't come in.

I'd have every single smoker thrown out every game until they learned to adhere to the rules and regulations. Why should smokers be allowed to break the rules just because they have a habit they can't control.
