Ticket Collection Paris

Imagine paying for a ticket to the Vienna Opera. You then get told you have to get to Vienna and spend half the day getting to a location where your purchase receipt will be checked and passport.

You cant because it would never happen.

Football fans are treated like absolute shit at times yet are expected to pay through the nose for the privilege.

The club could have a data base of regular Euro away buyers with Passport details logged if its a security requirement of a City/Country/Government and when purchased, tickets are sent directly out so that those buying can enjoy their trip and game with the absolute minimum of fuss and inconvenience.

It isnt rocket science and a bit of common sense is needed from the club on this.

It seems the thread has assumed the position that some football fans really are second class citizens and therefore only sensible that our rights and freedoms should be trampled over.
I expect the usual it stops the thugs comments, but I just don't see why I'm treated as a thug because someone else is. They should deal with the problem and not assume we are all the problem.
100% correct

It was a massive PC exercise, a farce really. Situated in the wrong place. When I told the girl I didn't have my confirmation letter, you'd have thought she'd found a suicide belt on me.
Probably cost us as two dads with two lads 2 hours of our day and about 60 Euros. If we get to the final I will go but that's it for me now on European trips. There is no need for supporters to be treated like this when they have already spent a fortune and precious time.
There has to be an easier way. why don't they print names as appear on passports on the tickets for cross reference

They did that for one of the Euros, can't remember which one but remember going through 3 checks, and no one looked at the name, they checked everything else; my bag, patted me down and glanced at my passport and the guy behind me who had been expecting not to get in as the name on the ticket was not the one on his passport got through without any bother. He told them he had forgotten his passport!!

Someone told me that his friend had got through on a ticket with a woman's name on, but that could be one of those urban myths! :-)

A single ticket on the underground cost 1.80 euro. Bearing in mind you had to get there and back that is 3.60 euros. x 4 = 14.40 euros. How did it cost 60 Euros extra ?
The Opera keeps getting mentioned, this time the Vienna Opera. As I have said before people do not throw coins and other objects at fellow Opera goers causing head injuries (Barcelona)

This thread is full of exagerations and urban myth and people who want to moan about everything. This forum was full of people who said they were not going to Barca having done it the year before and yet it sold out at a higher points level. No matter where the hotel was someone would find it inconvienient. It really was no a problem to arrive in Paris, collect your ticket and have enough time to have beer and food.

look Chelsea had to do the same, the French had people trying to get in a football ground with bombs, it had nothing to do with stopping points whores etc. even around the ground every road was blocked where I presume the home fans had to show a ticket or card to enter, city were doing as instructed by the foreign office who were acting on the French advice
Incorrect.

I'm telling you as it was I have no reason to lie and what the fuck does it has to do with you anyway you busy fucker. It was my experience and I was sharing it on a forum

Hotel should have been near central main rail station
And why were so many french people there picking up tickets ?

talking about ticket collection ,has anybody been credited with their ticket points as ihave checked my account ,and as yet i have not.Yet we were told they would be awarded after collection in paris

Each to their own but I'd sooner see him making life difficult for rag fans rather than for ours. In what way does having collection points for some domestic away games "improve things"? How much additional hassle do you want before a game?

If any new system keeps points whores at bay and increases my safety and security then a little inconvenience is a very small price to pay.

Maybe I'm being Clarkied but you make it sound like his influence goes a lot further than the ticket office and he actually has an impact on events on the pitch. He's a fucking bod in charge of ticketing, nothing more and nothing less, and a jumped up twat to boot going off the experiences of some of our fans.

You're not being Clarkied, this chap, along with all City staff members irrespective of their lofty or humble positions is a very important cog in the company wheel. We want the best staff in any position just like the team. Hopefully he will turn out to be an Aguero and not a Bony but so far he seems to be doing OK.

Some people seem to be whinging simply because he was a rag, maybe we shouldn't have signed Tevez, he was mildly irritating and an ex rag too.

This is definitely the case, it was a PSG requirement. The points whores effect is simply a welcome by product of the main security issues. I was inside the immediate ground area on the PSG side for a couple of hours before the game and PSG fans needed to show a ticket to get through the cordon.

If it was a PSG requirement why have City said it will happen at future European away games?
If it was a PSG requirement why was the same system in place in Kiev for the previous round?

And if it was a PSG requirement then why did the fans on the official trip not have to queue up at the hotel and go through the same process of those fans travelling independently?

Bollocks. People are "whingeing" because going off what many have said on here plus someone I spoke to on Saturday in the Lower Turks Head his attitude stinks and he talks to fans like they're criminals. That's not how anyone should deal with the general public. People like Lisa Eaton teach pricks like that how to behave every fucking time and he'd do well to learn some diplomacy skills from her.

As for this "very important cog in the company wheel", you're having a laugh mate. There are plenty of people that are capable of doing that job - you make it sound like he's as important to us as Aguero for fuck's sake.

I am not sure how it will work for domestic away days. Can you imagine 3,000 blues having to pick a ticket up before a night game in London or a 12.45 kick off on the South Coast. For a European game some fans go the day before, most arrive hours before kick off, whereas the opposite is true for a domestic game.

It would be fucking chaotic doing it for a domestic away game mate. By all accounts, there are significant teething problems with the Paris experiences. I don't think it's such a problem if you were arriving the day before the game but those on day trips could really do without the extra time involved. For a domestic away the "window" of time would be much smaller.

In the main, the ones saying this are those who didn't have to go to the collection point or know the fella in question
