Ticket Collection Paris

Having said that, Bluinsa makes a very good point below. If he doesn't adapt then it is time to get rid. Just an aside to Blueinsa......thanks for the lift to the game in your pick up in S.A.

Did you stop on our farm?

I have empathy for anyone that was abused. Your post and the point I answered said we should be united and supportive, I cant unite behind something when I and many others had the totally opposite experience to that posted on here. I believe a lot that has been posted on here is factually wrong, as an example the additional cost incurred to get to the hotel. The underground cost 3.60 euros return so why one quotes 60 euros I don't know (prepares to be called a busy arse again)

Squirty. I understand you are a Mod so can I ask this. Would you consider removing the ticket section for Euro games ? I read your post as to how to stop point whores but this way is simple and efficient compared to what you proposed.
Yes your forefathers fought for freedom but realting two world wars to being asked to travel from the airport/Gard Nord to a hotel is a little over the top.
Ask away, but I can only speak for myself and not the rest of the team
It's fair to say that I believe the ticket forum should be open, although not all the mod team agree.
I originally found the forum because I was looking for Schalke tickets, fortunately my daughter bought two on our points just before it sold out.
This wasn't introduced to stop points whores, desperate don has it right, it is for control, no other reason. The gentlemen brought in to do this has a career linked to controlling football fans, not to stop points whoring.
My freedoms are not up for discussion though. Being made to cross the road because someone doesn't like the look of someone else, ask the lovely Spanish police, is more than I'm prepared to put up with, so travelling half way across Paris when I have other things I'd rather be doing is way past acceptable. You may find that acceptable and that is your perogative, all I'm asking is when you happily give up your freedom don't ask that I should give up mine.
'Over the top' is a relative term. You may think I'm over the top, I think I'm the mild mannered janitor.

And what of all the independent fans that were flying and had already gone through security at the airport? Why did they have to do it twice?

There's no such thing as the "City Way" - that's as cringeworthy as United fans claiming there's a "United Way" - but there is a way of dealing with the general public in a correct manner and by many accounts, he's fallen well short of that.

The organised trip fans were in a controlled environment on a plane having gone through security the independent fans were free to go or do whatever they liked before picking up their tickets.

"The City Way" of dealing with supporters is something I have always found professional and second to none. The club have always gone out of their way t assist me in a polite and helpful manner. If that is cringeworthy then I am happy to cringe. As for "but there is a way of dealing with the general public in a correct manner and by many accounts, he's fallen well short of that." somehow I can't imagine he would regard referring to someone as a "prick" on an open forum to be the correct manner.

It seems some people have a real problem with City fans airing genuine grievances. We don't get everything right all the time, nobody does. Just accept that if you were lucky enough to get through the day without a hitch you did well. There were many who didn't though.

If I don't get good service then I am the first to voice my opinion but there is no need to personally abuse this chap and yes, I am thankful that my day went without a hitch.

Not a go at you but I read that as those on the club trip are first class citizens and those who are not, 2nd class.

What the fuck has it got to do with City what fans are doing in their free time in Paris or any other City for that matter?

Its all about control from a man who loves nothing more than feeling the power of controlling folk.

Getting more and more like a warped version of Animal Farm

Do you think passports are of equal value to a photo ID driving license?

And I'll ask again, were you on the Thompson trip?

No, passports are more important but I also think that Maggie had the right idea ;-)... now that is another can of worms opened!

I have already said that I wasn't on the Thompson trip.

No, I didn't stay on your farm but you kindly gave me and my son a lift to the game.

It is nothing to do with City as to what fans get up to, I was simply making the point that security checks would be necessary at the point of collection as independent fans could have got up to anything in the City were they minded to engage in skullduggery at the hotel.

Rest assured I am definitely a 2nd class citizen :-)

It's fucking bizarre - talk of controlled environments, etc. I appreciate that after the Paris attacks security in general will have been stepped up but I bet no other set of people apart from football fans have to go through all that shite when visiting Paris. Not a fucking chance.

Well I think we have our answer in the Maggie comment.
There's little point in carrying on the discussion

You are a busy arse, you seem to have something to say about everybody else based on your own experience. Just accept what people are telling you why would they lie or exaggerate
and if people feel aggrieved and pissed off so be it. You actually sound like a member of staff trying to defend this COCKUP

What history have we as a fan base of causing the kind of trouble where passports are needed to collect a ticket you have legitimately bought for a game having qualified to do so on a loyalty points system that shows you can attend games without causing the sort of trouble that would get you banned.

Its a ridiculous over kill, brought in by a man who wants to and thinks he needs to stamp his authority on a situation that isnt there.

I would think it's not beyond the whit of man to get up to skulduggery after pick up?

exactly my point from the beginning, it has nothing to do with City
I also like your point that having spent vast sums of money to get there we will be minded to engage in skullduggery

Unbelievable Jeff
