Ticket queues in Glasgow

As long as there's a TV in the bar at least you won't miss the game
I know a group of lads that went to watch England rugby team in Australia couldn't get tickets and ended up watching the game in a bar a couple of hundred yards from the stadium

I went to Germany to watch England on the World Cup and couldn't even get in a bar!!

My lads mate queued for over 2 hrs today. That is just not acceptable and the club needs to get this sorted.

Two hours? That's a fucking disgrace and the club should be ashamed of themselves (but they won't be)

With your name on and that's what you should have to verify using photo ID before entering the ground.

They tried something like that a couple of season's ago & that didn't work either. People were turning up at the ground saying they'd left their passports/photo ID at their hotel/home/mate had it & they were allowed in anyway!

As I've been on holiday since just after the start of the season, & last season my Doc wouldn't allow me to go to many Euro aways, & very few PL ones, I've not experienced the new regs and from all the reports I doubt I'll be going to many more as there is no way I can stand for more than 10 mins in a queue. So after waiting years to watch us in Europe now I'm too old for it! Ah well, that's the way the cookie crumbles as they say. I'll sit with my feet up & fade away between home games!! ;-)

It's an utter scandal, and reason enough for me (and others presumably) not to bother with euro aways any more. Throw in the alcohol ban, shit views and getting kept in after the game. Football wants us to pay like theatre goers for a "product", but wants to treat us like schoolkids going an a science trip.
Is this the aim? I have said tonight that I'm ducking European games next year. Not worth the trouble. At the least I'll be very selective . So if others think like me the middle pointers will then get the chance to go to games.

I agree I said tonight its becoming a chore these euro aways. Queuing for the right to pick up a ticket you paid for weeks ago. Being kept in at the end and being refused the right to even use the toilets. There is no other hobby/event anywhere where the paying customers would continuously be treated like shit and be allowed to get away with it.
On a seperate note city mistakenly gave a mates ticket to someone else at the pick up today. When said mate went to get his Ticket they made him wait for 30 minutes and till nearly 7 why they tried to work out what had gone wrong

There's been quite a lot of conjecture on this forum about the reasoning behind the collection procedures.

Is this a uefa regulation that all clubs have to adhere to?

I don't buy the train of thought that the club have done this to protect the integrity of the loyalty points system. Seems to convenient to me.

Tin foil hat time - it would certainly benefit the authorities if they had on film every fan that is attending the match as a away fan. Have on CCTV every fan entering the collection point and it would be easy to identify people if it was to kick off etc
give this man a gold star

But you were one of the biggest advocates for this charade mate

I think it's fairly clear this isn't being done to protect the integrity of the loyalty point system. It's all about control, and we shouldn't just sit back and accept it.
