The Blue Alliance lads/City Centre branch had a bash at the MacDonald hotel (the old BT building on London Road, next to Piccadilly Station) before one of the games earlier this season, with some old players turning up.
Maybe they have a contact in the hotel who can put a room aside showing the match for you?

This is a really good idea imo with lots of benefits to it -

For people coming in from out of town via train it will be simple to find.

Would guarentee a decent spec. Let's face it, everywhere is going to be rammed and if we get a few numbers there's no guarentee we'll be able to get in anywhere as a group.

Only ten mins by taxi to the ground.

I'm easy as to where we go. The only criteria for me is that its closeby so we can quickly get to stadium - that way we can get there whilst everyone is still inside and see the trophy being paraded (IF we win) via screen at City Square and then join in with the celebrations outside and meet up with those who had tickets.

And that I'm not trudging around looking for someone that lets me in at 2.50pm.
if we win, will we be allowed in citysquare after without tickets?

You could pm or twitter felix or the blue alliance lads/city centre branch for details of who to contact in the hotel, don't know who exactly organised it but someone must know

Of course Don, the more the merrier mate. Once things are sorted I'll PM everyone who has been on this thread.

Blue>Red, I can't see any way they can stop us. People will be pouring out of the ground and others will be heading there from other parts of it. The bars might be a different matter but City Square itself should be easy to get to.

So it's sounding like a proper blue moon do. Brilliant, never met anyone of this forum.

I will be having a few with mates who have tickets before the match, whether they will meet up with bluemoon beforehand or not I don't know. They may, but I deffinately want to tag along with you lot for the match. I like the idea of finding a venue close to the ground, but not Mary ds. Mary ds will be slammed, I'm not sure we would all get in.

I called the Macdonald hotel and this is the info so far...

For a half room seating 50 people for the afternoon is 600 quid. It has 2 large projector screens and a bar in the suite.

What do we think ?

Edit:: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.viewmanchester.co.uk/pubsandbars/bars-to-watch-football-in-manchester-recommended-manchester-1889.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.viewmanchester.co.uk/pubsand ... -1889.html</a>

This site seems decent to whittle down poss locations also.

My priority is to be as close to the stadium as possible. I'm not a fan of public houses (and there's probably better big screen bars in the city centre) but since this Mary D's is obviously popular might as well go there. Then hopefully rush up to the stadium and try and get into the South Stand (after all they will have to let QPR fans out) or if fans run onto the pitch will be loads of empty seats.

If your not a fan of public houses then Mary D's almost certainly won't be to your taste :-)
Oh I don't know. It has a very select clientele!

It has a very special clientele ;-)
