Tickets this season

Our capacity is around 54,000. 3,000 is for away fans if they take up their full allocation. That leaves 51,000. I'm not sure how many season cards we allocate but it must be at least 36,000-40,000. That could leave 11,000 maximum for sale to members etcetera. For popular games I'd say it would sell out to members. I'm seeing a lot more of what look like tourists at every game so at long last, in spite of a vicious media working against us, we have become big box office. Forest at home last night looked packed out, this would be a game we'd struggle to sell out at this time of the year and against low key unknown to the tourists opposition.

I think given Pep is here, we are scoring lots of goals and the Haaland effect most games will sell out. I agree though ticket prices are ridiculous for non seasoncard holders. The dreaded fuel increases looming may have a big impact once winter comes.
When we was in Barcalona last week we got chatting to some English families at the game who had come from nearby holiday resorts (2hr and 90 min away ) Barca had been round flogging the remaining 40k tickets the day before the game and they Said they only came to see Haaland.
The reaction from a large part of the crowd when he was warming up and came on suggest we may well have the seat seller and shirt shifter we wanted when going after Messi . We could very well start to see the tourist flocking to city getting the cash registers chinging and the empty seats for C/L dead rubbers filled . Not sure how I feel about it tbh as it all feels a bit raggy but guess the futures for the young ones. I’d recommend anyone thinking about a season ticket get one as soon as possible as they will be hard to come by in the future

If he keeps scoring then yes he might be. He's been downplayed by the media over here, indeed they'd written him off after the charity shield game. Even now it's low key. If it was a rag or scouse player banging these goals in he'd be headlines all week until the next game. Just like us dominating this league for ten years it's swept under the carpet. We've had genuine superstars before, Ya Ya, Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero but as you say perhaps this lad might peak the interest. He's certainly lived up to the hype so far.

An added frustration is the restriction around purchasing tickets for the Rags and Liverpool. Long standing members and former season card holders with thousands of points. One season where can only make four matches due to illness and miss out on these games this season. The website says they will go on sale with to Matchday members with four weeks to go. Less than that to the derby and still nothing sadly. Have got other matches booked and paid for. Doesn't seem fair that loyalty points don't matter for the others.

Frustrating, why make it so hard to buy tickets. Seems counter intuitive. Many as a matter of principal in the current climate will refuse to buy memberships. Spuds still restricted, a few days before the game. Idiotic

My work sometimes take overseas visitors to games. 3 or 4 times per season. Not in expensive corporate, just standard tickets. We’ve given up on that, to much like hard work to arrange….

Can see why they've put restrictions in for some games. Ensuring bin dippers and rags etc don't get into the home end I'm all for.
What I don't get is why they do these things with immediate effect and without any warning. A number of people will have been hesitant to come last season due to covid (hence people deferring season tickets and the club even giving them the option to do so). Therefore to bring that rule in the following season seems completely bizarre. Surely a more logical thing would have been to go off points or requiring people to have been to the Etihad on x amount of occasions but not solely basing it on last season.
Perhaps if tickets haven't gone on open sale at all is because the club is trying to give the membership more perceived value. I.e I can't see it mention that it gets you on the season card waiting list any longer. How you now get on that hasn't been communicated very well either.

I think the the whole priority and exclusive thing is part of society now and if paying a bit extra pushes you up the line then fair enough, it’s personal choice of course and totally worth it for in demand games etc.

For example now with Spurs there are a couple of days until the game with tickets available FROM £63 on the site but yet on top of that you have to pay £35 and the reality is if they haven’t been sold to those with all the memberships and priority by now etc. just release them to the gen pop and fill the remainder of seats.

Just goes show how little interest & impact matchday revenue has for the club and that’s not a dig per se just the facts.

Think it's purely to increase membership numbers. The reality is the majority of people won't go to the 7 Premier League games to break even with the membership fee at the current matchday prices.
The token £5 off a league game is becoming farcical at the rate they keep increasing the ticket prices and keeping the discount the same. Charging up to £85 for one against Spurs who have won one league Cup in like 30 years! Its shocking.
If they aren't putting them on open sale there's no need to have this £5 off anyway. Just price them £5 cheaper from the start. But this would be another benefit they'd have to remove from the membership package.

Spurs sold out weeks ago. The tickets available now are season ticket holders listing on the exchange.

Yes but people who would buy them cant without the extra outlay for a membership. A few days before the game. Bizarre way of going about things.
