Have to agree.

So we move Manchester's boundaries? I'm not in there. I can also say that I have heard both and that the Charlatans shit all over Oasis, just as Blur did.peoffrey said:Joycee Banercheck said:The Charlies weren't from Manc until they got the new guitarist involved (Mark?), and he's a red. Isn't Tim Burgess from Northwich or somewhere? It's only down the road. People easily forget Ian Brown is from Warrington.
The Charlatans aren't better than Oasis. I've heard almost everything they've done and not one of their albums is a patch on Definitely Maybe or Morning Glory. They've got some killer songs but they're pretty much a singles band to me.

Sorry no, you didn't. But I don't class any Oasis album as a classic either. They're a bit shit apart from Def Maybe. This aint a 'who's cock's bigger' thread, I just think that charlatans songs mean something more, sound better and live longer. To me anyway.peoffrey said:Joycee Banercheck said:peoffrey said:Isn't Tim Burgess from Northwich or somewhere? It's only down the road. People easily forget Ian Brown is from Warrington.

I didn't say that. I didn't even suggest it. Is Tim Burgess supposed to support Northwich Victoria or something? I've got Lads from Oldham and Bolton next to me at City.
Blur also did alot of great stuff but The Charlatans are little more than tag alongs who were every Indie Kids 7th favourite bands. Their albums aren't classics.

I can't say anything without sounding condescending, and that is the last thing I want to do, but just listen to a few Charliues albums from start to fin, then a few Oasis ones and then decide who's put a bit of thought into it and who's after cashing in. And Blur never cashed in, they kept going and doing what they do.peoffrey said:Joycee Banercheck said:peoffrey said:Isn't Tim Burgess from Northwich or somewhere? It's only down the road. Ian Brown moved to timperley when he was young. That's where he met squire
Similar to saying Jay-k is from Stretford. His mum went into labour whilst at a gig I think.
