Time for Mark Hughes to resign.

Oh for God's sake. Is anyone really arguing in favor of Hughes returning next season? I was fully willing to give him the entire campaign, but all we've learned is that eight months into the campaign, he still has no idea how to get the players to perform for him. The man brought in eight first team regulars, so at this point he can't complain about poor fits for his system.

Speaking of which, I've been watching Hughes's sides now for eight months, and I'm not entirely sure what his system is. All I know is that it involves a paucity of shots and is utterly worthless on set pieces at the attacking end, and a defense that can't mark or defend set pieces at the other end.

He seems like a decent chap and I wish him success at his next stop, but it has to be crystal clear to everyone at this point that he's simply not the right man for the job at City. For a club picked to finish in the top six -- and that was before all the transfers that have come in since the season kicked off -- City are headed for a miserable mid-table finish. And after crashing out embarrassingly early in both domestic cup competitions and failing to get past the quarterfinals in the UEFA Cup, all Hughes has to show from this season is a track record of consistent underachievement.

Sorry, Mark Hughes. Your performance simply hasn't been nearly good enough to justify bring brought back.

Wishing him all the best at his next stop here too. Good summary of the campaign, somervillain.

seriously man fuck off he made the right choices tonight. He put a side out there that were capable of winning and almost did.

No almost about it. We did win.

Hughes out.

Dunne should have been subbed - it was obvious he would have another red. Elano should not have been taken off either.

I think most premiership managers would indeed have taken Dunne off, given the circs and given the fact that he has been sent off more times than anyone else in the premiership.

, but why is that Hughes fault? .

I'll take a wild stab at answering that. I think it might be because he's the manager!

You'll see for the 1000th time this Sunday why Hughes needs to go as we continue with the good cop bad cop routine, I predict a thoroughly uninspiring and dowdy 1-1 draw against the league’s bottom side.

Of course I hope I am wrong and will be cheering the lads on to the rafters.

Can anyone remember the details of Mark Hughes' contract with City when he joined in June last year?

I have a suspicion that the target for this season was Top 6, and Top 4 and Champions league the following season.

If I'm right - then didn't he do well?

And if I was the owner - the return on my HUGE investment is ZERO - not impressed

We feel the pain 25,000kms away!

I am drunk, so this may come off in the wrong way, but FUCK OFF!!!. This was the best team game we have played all season. If our defense was more focused for a couple of seconds or if Elano was inches lower, or Caicedo landed his sitter it would have been game.
BEST GAME OF THE SEASON!!!
