Time To Back The Manager...

I had a feeling that Herman would hamper us this window and said as such to Tolm weeks ago, him and the snake know full well we wanted shut early doors and were bound to do their best to fuck our plans up - it just irritates me that we take this way of working at board level, surely we should have made plans to plug the deficiencies in the squad whilst working on getting the deadwood out rather than waiting for outgoings to happen first.

As I said, I can understand Bob's frustrations as I'd be extremely surprised if he'd been told by the board, prior to Jan, that he wouldn't be allowed to bring anyone in.

Interestingly enough, Mancini's made a couple of veiled references to not being able to bring in players this window even if Carlos et al are moved on. The very fact that these decisions are being made above the manager's head worries me a little. It's not a big deal, but you do have to wonder....last summer they tried to get him to sign Hoillet or Young instead of Nasri or Sneijder.

See the problem that people have now?

As far as I can see, the only person with a problem is you...

without a doubt that's the case.
NO that's not the case.

You do not understand the definition of "on the line".
Perhaps he does, but doesn't think Mancini's job is at risk if we for whatever reason fail this season. I agree, we've made massive (sic) strides this season, and last, to get rid because a few decisions might not go our way would be ridiculously stupid, and ultimately futile. We'd be essentially back to square one. New manager with players he doesn't want.

I don't comment much, but your confrontational attitude and continual berating of the boss most of us deem fit to be in the position that he is, pisses me off. Fine, you have an opinion, fine you air it, but once is enough, I for one don't need to read it every time I log on. So just chill.

For the record, I stil think we will win the league despite all this type of shit, and I think Mancini will take City places we've never dreamed of in the coming years, as long as we support him and the club we love.

Knee jerk bollocks like this doesn't help..

I can't say I understand your need to be some kind of online celeb, your opinion is add valid as the next one, but please rein it in, man, as saying the same thing over and over in the same threads will not make it true.

Mancini is top class and will be here for a long time, even if it does fuck up this season, (which we won't).

You should try doing my job.

to paraphrase Wittgenstein, the world is everything that is the case, and particularly so in dismal's preposterous world.
Wow, you've managed to make Wittgenstein sound interesting....

Is it that veiled references do not equal facts? I can read between the lines, oops, I mean the capitals.

Yeah, I remember those references although I can't say that I believe them - surely it was just the stock answers that we wheel out when it comes to the window.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but our owners don't seem all that keen on the Jan window, pretty sure we only signed Dzeko last Jan when it was obvious we needed more than that - I certainly remember last Jan 31st not bothering to get excited by any last minute rumours.....

I suppose to a certain degree we've been spoiled in the past few years but it just surprises me that when the holy grail is within grasping distance that Sheikh Mansour doesn't give it one final flutter before reigning in the spending.

With regards Frank's post to do with the deadwood, that's what I'm referring to when I say that Bob has fell out with Cook previously about being hamstrung by the club's inability to shift the shite that he wasn't responsible for buying - it's a tough balancing act agreed but surely another couple of players in wouldn't be too much to ask.... ;-)

Perhaps the Sheikh thinks that this would be one 'final flutter' too many. No one can claim that he has been tight-fisted, can they?

As regards deadwood, this can be created by poor buying, certainly, but it can also be created by poor man-management or a determination to re-shape the style of the team at any cost. When we play at our best now, Adebayor would be a terrific asset in our attack and so would Bellamy (and I am aware that he is no longer deadwood to us, but giving him away to a rival club has not helped our potential FFP position; nor has shunning Ade, while still paying part of his wages.)
