Time to ban horse racing (jumps)

Excuse me for being slightly giddy for having a 40/1 winner today, but if horses don't want to jump a fence then they wont. Look how many carry on in a race when they have shed their jockey. Horses run and jump, it's in their nature, whether a human is riding it or not they will still do it and suffer injuries. I've seen horses put down during races and been unfortunate enough to seen a jockey killed, it's a risk some are willing to take. Life is full of risks and if the do good/health and safety brigade were to get their way what a boring life we would lead.

In a motherjumping nutshell.
I am about to venture upstairs for a dump.
Perhaps Sad Smiths Dreamer would like to risk assess my fucking stairs and have them banned for being too steep?

I Fuuuuuuuuucking love horse racing,great day out ,a beer in between each race,send the family to the fairground bit.I once won over £1600 on a 11/2 20/1 reverse forecast.

Years ago I would have said ban it but reality tells us the amount of money a meeting generates will override so play on for me.

On the war horse note I was reading an article a few weeks back that after all their good work in World War One 75,000 were slaughtered to feed starving German soldiers. Joey wasn't one of them but his mate was.

You could slip fall backwards and break your neck, life is full of risks, whether they be natural or unnatural, if you sat down and thought about them you would never move out of your armchair. Didn't Elvis go for a dump and die?

There is no chance that they would be mad enough to ban horse racing jumps. Take this festival of jump racing going on now. The amount of money this meeting generates for the local businesses is just way to much over 55000 people were there on Tuesday the same today thats something else. How many of those people are using the local hotels , B&Bs and pubs while they stay.

So are you saying that if the jumps were banned and Cheltenham became a flats race, the same amount of people wouldn't go?
