Well saidThe last two games at the Etihad is some of the worst time wasting I've ever seen. Continuously got away with it too

I don't understand why the premier league do not have multiple balls around the pitch which are thrown to the players when the ball, goes out. This happens in the CL and I did see stats how it increases the amount of time the ball is in play and time wasted.
Thing is if we start as we end games the chances are an early goal will come and this won't be an issue.
Yeah but with our team if we get the opponents to come out we ' should' get a hat full.I don't like early goals, unless they come in threes! I remember Anelka, I think, scoring at The Etihad and I turned to my left and said, "Jeez, we've got 89mins to hang on!"

The obvious fact is that NOBODY knows how long a football game last, players, managers, fans, and yes even the FEFS . They have to guess it. FIFA, UEFA, and the FA have all refused to bring in a timekeeper as in Rugby league where EVERYBODY knows at what point in time the game stands. It's also plain to see referees could not care less!!!!
Sorry didn't quite catch that, can you say it a little louder?
I'd love to see the actual rules on what is a legitimate use of time (ie ball not in play but time not added on) and what is not legitimate (ie ball out of play and time is added on). My assumption is that it is all incredibly vague and there is a huge amount of referees discretion (which essentially translates as the ref is making it up as he goes along)? I can't think of one good reason to not completely change the rules on the timing of matches but as you say, the authorities don't seem to even consider it which I can only assume means that the authorities see time wasting as a completely legitimate part of football, a weapon in the armoury of teams if you like. Whereas I think your average fan probably sees it as a form of cheating especially if you've paid forty or fifty quid to watch players fuck about over goal kicks and throw ins and a referee "threateningly" look at his watch over and over again. The obvious fact is that NOBODY knows how long a football game last, players, managers, fans, and yes even the FEFS .
