Tino Livramento

Is this graphic supposed to prove Nunes is the better full back?
Where are the stats re his constant fuck ups? I’d list a few but I could be here all afternoon. I’ll agree he did improve, but not to premiership level. We still need a rb in my opinion. I think the club want one too, it’s just an availability issue at the moment.
Like me, a lot of blues wrote Nunes off as a walking disaster but I have to say he turned his game around last season. He looks like a confident player now who enjoys playing right back for City.

You're right of course, there are very few better available right backs than Nunes. You said it.

1. It's not your/their money
2. Man City has more than enough money to pay that
3. We are getting outspent by our rivals left, right and center..
4. In case you forgot, we paid 100mil for Grealish!
5. Livramento is world class, young and English (which counts for the English quota that we currently must increase)
6. We desperately need a world class right back now, which is exactly what Livramento is
7. By buying him, any chance of Isak to Liverpool (our rivals) would fall apart
Deary me

I know he's low on mosts list of being able to fill the role but we're better off than we were at this time last year given his development.

There's nothing pleasant about your constant negativity. And I don't like constant negativity.. I like positivity.

I see positive in Nunes as he can provide assists to our forwards where others can't or didn't manage to last season even though they were given chances.

Oh and thanks for putting me on ignore.. I won't miss anyone who is negative towards City players non stop.

Most of us don't want this forum to become twitter like constant negativity..
Apart from Kovacic?

He’s a good player but he isn’t world class by any measure.

Could be in future though.

I genuinely think people should just watch the Lad this season, ignore the stats and watch his play, the space he opens up for the wingers and attacking mids, he will no doubt end up at Chelsea or Arsenal next season for the money they are asking now if he has another cracking season.

Won't matter then though because he's shite...

Lol.

The point is, relatively in comparison to some of the fees paid for some pretty damn average players (Philips, Nunes, Mendy etc) it isn't actually an expensive transfer nowadays when you factor in his age, homegrown and future value.
Again, none of the players you mentioned cost 80 million. And they too were very good prospects with high ceilings until they weren't.

Its 20/20 hindsight to pretend they wre average when we bought them. Mendy was a World Cup winning international with high pedigree on an overachieving French CL team. Phillips was an English international regular, and so was Nunes for Portugal. All 3 were of higher pedigree than Livramento when we went in for them...

It is only in hindsight that you and others see average players.

And here you are suggesting its okay we pay damn near double for Tino and hope for the best.

Id rather wait till Tino is the best full back alive and then pay that 80 million.

Here is a good way to think of it, Liveramento would never be worth more than 80 million no matter how good he gets as a full back in future.

So why take the risk? Letr him become prime Kyle Walker. We'd pay the 80 Mil then. Not a day earlier.

Did Mendy play in the 1998 world cup then?

If hes not coming to city its pointless watching him, what i will say is nunes stats are currently better and hes not a right back... why watch him if hes going arsenal or chelsea

If he can stop playing braindead and pull a Nunes redemption arc or something similar.. sure.

But deep down I still feel it's better to integrate Nico G and Nico O'Reilly into our midfield rather than block their path by trusting older players like Kova/ Gundo in midfield again.
So no being negative against "City players non stop" unless you say so. fuck off.

We’re just throwing the term World Class about now I see.

We have the cash, we should pay it, we are being outspent by our rivals and a top top right back could be the difference between success and failure this season.
Livramento is not an 80 mil pound player. There are numerous capable young right backs in Europe that could be had at less than half that amount. Having the cash is no reason to grossly overspend for anyone. An 80 mil pound RB would need to be world class, top 3 at the position. Is anyone stepping forward willing to drop 80 mil on Livramento? I'd take Livramento at 45/50 mil and that's about the ceiling of what he's worth.

Paying 80 mil for Livramento would be reckless by the board. In what universe is Livramento worth 80 mil?

I think once Pep hits the road the club won’t have a choice but to get the best players as we will no longer have the best manager ever.
Yeh because Pep has done more with less...oh wait that has never happened...
