There are very few full backs who can do everything.

And if there were, they would cost a fortune.

We need a proper right back who can defend first and foremost.

Very true with regards to Alexandar-Arnold but its the attacking side of the game that drove up his 'value' and I say that in quotes because obviously he went on a free but his wages and sign on will have been eye watering

The more defensively solid full backs who lack a bit going forward are easier to find than vice versa so will cost less. I think we know which category Livramento falls into

He's superb. Can play either side equally well. A complete full-back if ever there was one. Why is £77m for Gvardiol something we were willing to do but £70m for Livramento, in a much harder position to fill, too expensive?
