Tips on Sleeping in hot weather

1. No cold showers. They trigger the body into conserving heat, pooling it in your core, ready to come out later. Tepid is the way forward. Then wash your face and next with cold water.

2. You can get quite good aircon for one room for £100 quid or so.

I could have got one of these for £60 couple of months ago... sigh.

Still, beware that if you freeze the water yourself, that heat will be exchanged back into the air by the freezer, every last bit.

I made this mistake, filled my freezer with cold water for ice, then noticed the damned thing was like a 7 foot radiator.

Thermodynamics is not a phenomena you can cheat - you might as well try and change the entire course of the universe or reverse the flow of time. And note well that you are running two electric devices that are woefully inefficient. In a closed flat, you will end up generating much more heat than you remove. The only reason to use these things is to generate local cooling.

2. Hot air rises. Skylights are the fucking shit. I wish I had one.

Ah this takes me back to my physics lessons.

If you have an operating fridgefreezer in a enclosed room with its doors open, what happens to the temperature.
