I get the impression that some of the moaning pessimists on this site have only just started supporting City.
Here's the league table from 2012 with 4 games to go:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2011-2012/table/2012-04-16" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.statto.com/football/stats/en ... 2012-04-16</a>

Here's the league table from the 2014 table with 4 games to go:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2013-2014/table/2014-04-26" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.statto.com/football/stats/en ... 2014-04-26</a>

City are 5 and 6 points respectively behind the leaders and we went on to win.
We're 5 points behind the leaders with 29 games to go this season (and you never know, the rags might win today...)

Anybody who thinks the season is over is a twat who doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.

Wow!! Were City really behind in both these seasons...and came back to win the league title both times? No way!! I thought we were at least 10 points clear with a handful of games to go, phew...just shows what I know, eh?
Thanks for pointing that out mate and for setting us all straight, it's great to have guys like you around on this form....no seriously, it is, I mean others on here might call you a patronising little douche bag but not me mate....once again, many many thanks
Just who is the 'patronising little douche bag 'here? Take another look pal

Well said..

Whilst of course history has proven that anything can happen, the same people who point this out fail to mention 2012/13 where when we got behind we never once looked like clawing it back and lost the league with 5 games to go!

Chelsea were battered by us at home yet for me never really looked like losing and whilst we played extremely well, they looked extremely solid and won't lose many games.

8 points would be hard to pull back but anything over 10 would be almost impossible with them as the team to overhaul.

Whatever the chances, we need to pull our fucking socks up because we we have witnessed in recent weeks has been worrying. We are shipping way too many goals, Mangala looks shaky and fernando struggling to get used to the pace of the game. Add to that a very average Kompany and Zab this year and a misfiring Yaya and there are things that need addressing.

Problem is we will drop more than enough points too until the end, you know we still go to Stoke, Soton, Sunderland, Everton, Anfield etc...
There will be about 1 win in these games not more...

At this rate we're going to have to go on a run similar to the scousers last year.

Chelsea look very strong. Last season with arsenal you could sense they wouldn't sustain and their squad isn't deep outside midfield. Chelsea this year look really strong and they have goals in them.

People are to quick to judge Fernando when he's playing alongside Yaya who isn't 80% where he was last year and has always been positionally questionable as we find out in Europe every time our midfield plays a decent side for the last 3 years. Our problem is left back which can't be solved with cliche and Kolarov.....play 5 in midfield and solves 2 problems in 1.... We'll never win the European cup but we may progress further than knockout stages. All is not list yet but changes need to happen fast.

we have hunted down Liverpool and utd, time to hunt down chelsea

United have potentially just done us a big favour with that result. I refuse to believe we're out of it yet at this ridiculously early stage. If 2011-12 and 2013-14 season's have taught me anything it is that we should fight to the end to reap our rewards. We're only 6 points behind Chelsea at the moment, they're bound to slip up at some point, especially with them being overly reliant on Diego Costa who is out at the moment. Yes - yesterdays performance was abysmal but we have to put that result behind us, get behind the team and concentrate on the here and now. We've done it before; we can do it again! CTID

I said it all along, they are not as dominant as people seem to think. Chelsea's run has been far easier than ours. Let's see where the points lie in January
