It's not all bad, Chelsea have been awesome and is shutting up the ignorant morons who defy his greatness. They have been truly outstanding, they are potent, goals spread out amongst the team, pacey, pressing, drilled and hard to break down. Player for player we have a better eleven and squad but they have imho the best manager in the world and he has the bit between his teeth and eager to prove his worth. I expect Chelsea to win title and be in last 4 of Champions League.

I'd take second on basis we progress from CL group and win a domestic trophy. Next summer should and will be our biggest since we first won the league.

Say we finish second, in the last 5 years we have this record;
14/15 - Second?
13/14 - League winners, Carling Cup win
12/13 - Second, Finalist in FA Cup (I don't count charity shield)
11/12 - League Winners
10/11 - Third (missing out on second by GD) FA Cup Winners

The above is a consistent record in the toughest and most competitive league in the world. If some of our lot were Arsenal fans I'd wage the Samaritans would be engaged with a backlog in the thousands.

After all the years of watching (mostly) dire football I'm just enjoying watching the best City team I've ever seen.
And the rag debacle is just a cherry on the cake ;-)
Well said, mate.

The way people go on about the 12/13 season is a bit nuts really. We comfortably finished second and got to a cup final. How can that be a shit season?

We'll finish top 2 this season, I'm sure, which makes it another good season. We can't win it every year and I'm not sure it wold be a good thing if we did. It's also worth noting that Chelsea have won the league once in 8 years. A sense of perspective is required.

Can't argue with either of you. In the last few years we've seen us win 2 leagues, an fa cup, a league cup, not forgetting the charity shield.
We've seen us finish top 4 four times.
We've seen us buying some of the best and most exciting players in the world, and watched us score more goals than we could ever dream of.

Second (that's if we don't win it!) , this season?

That'd be good enough for me, for now. The time to worry is when we do an arsenal and charge our fame 1000's to watch our team battle for the "4th placed cup" every year and little else.

I signed up to city when I was a little boy, going with my dad. I didn't even let myself dream of the last few years in those days..

I'm a very happy city fan these days.

They don't have to lose 4.....points can be made up if they draw a few games....It's something the pundits on the telly trot out and it's annoying as fuck.

title isnt over yet but why cant we once just start a season actually building up a 8-10 points lead until Christmas and see what we do with it. Why we need to be in these underdog situations to come back from? Like in all last 3 seasons. We did come back twice, once we didnt we were 11 points worse than a not so good United.

Unfortunately this season seem like that one very much in terms of us sitting back after title win, not going and making the squad really strong.

I rate this years Chelsea lot stronger than our 11-12 rival in United, or 12-13's United or 13-14's Liverpool. This will be seen also in terms of what these teams did in CL while offering us a very tough fight for the title.

Chelsea easily could be CL semifinal material, while United were shit i 11-12 CL, Pool werent not in Europe as that helped them in the league big time, while 12-13 United also were not very strong in CL.

That 11 points lead look bad as long as they win today and of course beat QPR at home next Saturday. And then we face the derby where United will be more fresh as no League Cup for them, and they will be after a bad loss from today.
(I expect 100% Chelsea win.)

What is stopping us to actually get a lead of 8-10 points and hold onto it? Why always this strange underdog role we push ourselves into?
It kinda has relation that when we are on the big stage in CL and we have to show what we worth we fuck up.

I agree.....and with us fans who have been supporting our team for 20, 30 years (my first season ticket was 31years ago).....this is a great time to be a Blue BUT with the money we've spent and the standards we have now been set......the owners will not be happy with 2nd or 3rd place or getting knocked out early in the CL.....if we knew we didn't have the talent on this team to win, then it would be easier to accept these defeats....lack of hunger, fight, balls or whatever you want to call it, is unacceptable and incompetence from a manager that wants to play a formation that doesn't work, that is just as bad.....I think its good to be disappointed, frustrated and fed up with these poor performances...its shows we want and expect more from our team....."happy" to be 2nd is what we should never be.........wanting and expecting 1st is the way our fans should look at every season now with the investment we had......

if Chelski keep Costa fit its going to be very very difficult to catch them if not then there is always a chance

However does anybody really expect Mouriniho / Chelski blow up. He is the ultimate pragmatist

Anyone who truly believes this obviously haven't learned anything from two of the last three seasons.

I wouldn't be particularly keen to share a trench with you either.

The difference is we were not chasing a mourinho run Chelsea for the past 3 seasons! Title is gone now
