Title Race 2020/21

BIG big wake up call this weekend to manchester city and the need to kick on and start to flow and score bloody more goals with the chance we create

if you like a statement was made by united and liverpool and the truth is both are media/VAR/officials darlings manchester city will have to fight tooth and nail to win the title this season. also with the VAR team giving united so many soft pens and liverpool also get so much help that they don't have to play well to win

big question is ??? can manchestre city win the title with this form and low scoring games
ok the defence is looking solid and the giving sloppy goals away have gone at the moment. so a strong defence and clean sheets is also important to a title race. but its goals and plenty of them that wins you more games and titles than sitting on a 1 nil lead and holding on and running down the clock in the corners

also its a puzzle to what has happened to the goals we had in the team over the last 3 seasons ? ok aguero and his injuries are a key thing. but a lot others did score double figures and city have score over 130 goals per season

the title race will be down to 2 or 3 big games for city this season liverpool away united at home and then spurs at home

Implied probability of winning the league based on exchange betting odds:

50% Liverpool
27% City
9% United
6% Chelsea
4% Spurs
3% Leicester

Quite a big change over the last 7 days when were favourites.

Rags V *poster banned from talking about them* gets the PL the most money and as all the foreign TV deal rights are coming up. I expect the hype and decisions to maintain this facade.

think it’s Liverpool again. theyve Had injuries and are still clear at the top.
we need to find our scoring boots and go on a run to form any challenge.

Tottenham went from 1st to 5th in the space of a week. It's tight at the top, 3 consecutive wins and we will be right up there challenging.

that is the challenge to cling onto
a week in football is 3 games a week over the Christmas and new year and it can change so fast and you right back in the mix. yes liverpool looked good but its palace ? united looked good but it was leeds and in both game both leeds and place downed tools before kick off and gived united and liverpool the easiest 3 points they will win this season

We simply have to take 6 points off Liverpool to stand any chance. To do that we obviously have to win at Anfield, a City graveyard of misery and abject failure over many years. It's not looking good I'm afraid.

Just as well most Christmas parties will have been cancelled......
