Superb defender but what are the stats behind recovery from a serious hamstring injury like he had?. I think this would be a case of buying just to keep him from going to a rival.

I am no medic but it would be some hamstring injury to end a career

Not talking about career ending, but the injury was so bad he had to have surgery on the muscle. The question was more along the lines of how limiting it would be, if at all?

Can't see kompany going anywhere, with his injury record think he would be happy being 3rd or 4th choice at this stage and not many teams could boast a player like him as back up. Think we are covered in defence now as long as danilo stays and delph remains second choice

My thoughts exactly when glazing this; unless Tosin (?) and/or Kompany leaves/retires, this can bear fruit otherwise i cant see it happen unless Stones is having a disaster for a season and pep would like to have an experienced defender as an insurance.

£25m + £150k wages is an absolute steal. If we did go for him, Vincent would have to depart/retire. But Alderweireld/Otamendi/Laporte/Stones would arguably be 4 of the top 5 or so centre backs in the league.

He's 28/29... with the clause kicking in obviously forces Spurs' hand a bit as well. Probably around £50-60m. Probably to United.
