Today’s Rugby Union

One thing today is confirming is that TNT have a terrible concept of commentary.

England have the dreadful Harrison who gets things wrong several times a day (Pollard definitely was on the pitch today...) and doesn't pay attention to the ref; they've coupled him with the highly punchable Austin Healey who thinks that it's okay to insult the ref when he feels.

Wales commentary was equally one-eyed and rubbish.

Ireland commentary is quite giddy.

They're basically cheerleading without a lot of insight or contemplation.

Depends who think is the best one?
F Smith wasn't in the 23, but played all match last week.
M Smith wins if Ford is playing because the 6-2 split means versatility is needed (and as happened at the end of today's match, a back row forward goes and stands in the midfield, if needed). As it was M Smith came on early as Steward failed an HIA.
I’ve always thought Ford was the best 10 but they picked the thug Farrell on the grounds of Ford’s supposed vulnerability to the tackle.. M.Smith is not a 10 in my book, Fin is better, but Ford is the best game controller. Superb today when we fell behind.

They do lots for kids and local teams get nice clubhouses but they do fuck all for the Pro game
Sold their soul for TV rights. Nice new Shiny Hotel. The abortion that is the URC and Regional Rugby, allowing small clubs to pay way too much money on average Joe’s. No understanding of brand identity. No understanding of the fact there is competition for peoples time and money in the 21st Century.

Was "Jiffy" (Jonathan Davies) involved ?
An excellent player, in both codes, but a "Cyclops" when it comes to co-commentator...

Just watched Scotland implode from 21-0 in the second half to lose 33-24 to Argentina. Scotland were cruising for the first 57 minutes, and Argentina just not in the game. Then it was a complete reversal for the final quarter. Quite bizarre really.

In football terms, I suppose you would say Scotland were a bit Spursy.

No, not sure who the comms were.
I disagree about JD - on the BBC, he's almost always got someone from the other side, so he's there really to talk about one side, not to cheerlead. He's also quite willing to criticise and point out where failings are (not difficult at the moment...). He's no Brian Moore, though.

I was at the game. Shocking capitulation by Scotland all triggered by a shite pass from Fin . They went up the other end Knghorn got a yellow and game over. Scotland cannot claim to be a serious rugby team with performances like that. Really really poor.
