Today is my 41st wedding anniversary

I went to Queen Elizabeth High School (no grammar for me!) 68-73
You will have been in the year above
We must know the same people
I went to Salford Tech 73-75 with Steve Slater who was in your year
Well pal, you have really surprised me there.
In fact Steve was my best pal at school,he was at my wedding and I was at his.
Steve was a big,big City fan ,his Dad was a big friend of Harry Goodwin and he used to get Harry to bring trophies to his house in Boardman Fold Close.
We used to go to Alky youth club back in the early 70s which was almost next door to his house.
You must have been in the same year as Barry Pownall ,who got mentioned by Sid C at the start of this thread.
Sadly Steve passed away from cancer in 2007 ,after he lived in the states for about 25 years.
As we all know ,it really is a small world.

And yes,Steve and me were in the last year to have a grammar school education.
It went comprehensive from 1968 onwards.
I usually rub it in with my younger brother ( Stuart Egan) that I am the only one in the family who passed the Eleven Plus exam.

This is getting a bit spooky, people will start suspecting a bromance if we keep on like this!!
Baz Pownall was in our year with Tat, Dosser, Scoffe, Neil Courtney etc etc
Sadly I'm out of that loop now, living near Whitby having left town in 75 to work first in Southampton then mainly in the North East
As you say, small world.
