Today's atmosphere - very raggish????

From a personal point of view.

I think the OP was at a different game, or he sits in another part of the stadium away from the singning sections?(nothing against the OP)

Blocks 111/110/109 were signing non-stop for the first half an hour of the match. The longer it went on the more I thought we were going to replicate our European cousins of singning none stop for the whole of the first half.(sadly it didn't happen)

After 30 minutes of none stop singning and different songs the singning did die out until half time. The second half was much quieter overall, but there was still quite a fair amount of singning and banter.

Raggish?

Just as a comparison. I watched United play Fulham last week on the TV. 76,000 fans. It was like a f***ing morgue. You could hear a pin drop. Nothing apart from a few chants of U-N-I-T-E-D, United, and aNother couple of half hearted songs.(and we comp[lain aout our atmosphere)

Nothing against the OP and others who moan about the atmosphere, but overall the atmopshere at city has improved enormously over the last few seasons. So have the variety of chants.

We've all been through this topic/discussion before. come up ever season. The shallow stands don't help. The high roof doesn't help. Having both our singning sections split by the away fans doesn't help. Playing teams like OPR who only bring a few hundreds fans doesn't help.(compare that to Arsenal in 2 weeks time with a full away end)

I've stated this on numerous occasions. Our home support/atmosphere isn't the best in the PL, but it certainly isn't the worst either. In my opinion it's in the top 5, behind......

However, what I would like to see, and it still isn't happening, is more chants, banter, etc, involving blocks 111/110/1o9 ad the SS. Across Europe you see grounds with two singning sections/ends chanting to each other. It's briliant. It's just a shame it's not happening at City still.

Let's see what the atmosphere is like against Arsenal.

the atmosphere for arsenal should be great.

Thanks for letting me have a picture with your daughter JRB top shirt!

The atmosphere last season wasn't as good as it was the season before. When the Poznań first came about n that, we were really good in the last half of that season. Last season wasn't as good. Apart from one game against United.

Must admit thought it was ok yday.

On a personal note think some regulars were away so next to me had a cockney couple who kept shouting with a daft accent- just doesn't seem right at city! And then next to me I had a couple of prawn sandwich tourists with all the clobber. Sign of the times I suppose?!

First fifteen minutes I thought the atmosphere was good from the singing sections. Then it died down.

Second half the whole ground was like we were watching a training game util Zaba hit the bar. Was a weird atmosphere.

Overall about as bad as it ever is. I notice there was the usual more noise when someone does something little wrong, than when someone does something little well.

i didn,t go yesterday and watched online-your summary is spot on , esp with regards when a city player made a mistake....you can feel the tension in the crowd...suppose its something the players will have to get used to.

In some parts of the ground you can't even stand up for a few seconds without some moaning **** tapping you on the shoulder.

Passionate City fans go away for atmosphere. It's gone forever at home apart from the derby games and other BIG games.

Aye, it was poor. Are we turning into our enemies? No. The atmosphere has been far better for the past two years than it was in the years before it. It also helps to have decent away fans to bounce off and have banter with, and QPR were fucking shocking. Bad day at the office, that's all. I wasn't at Southampton and Liverpool as I was in Canada for both games but I thought we were in good form for the Charity Shield.

I watched Charity Shield on the telly and you guys were fucking booming. Considering it was ITV (therefore a more mainstream audience) it was a great advert for the club and did us proud.

Thought yesterday was rather poor but then it was only QPR wasn't it. Games where we're expected to hammer teams are always going to be a little quieter as you find at the Nou Camp etc. When we need to we can turn it on, no doubt when we're needed we will be there.

let me have a say

been all over the ground as a season ticket holder, east stand with my old fella.awful atmosphere, and the last 3 seasons 2009 to 2011 in the south stand level 2 218,awful atmosphere apart from the bigger games, just moved into the familly stand for this season with my 5 year old, after 2 games, well, its so bad its untrue, just the 1 or 2 small group trying to do something and gets things started all to no avail.Yesterday i saw it for the first time,a young kid with a group of other kids and adults,he was playing on his intendo ds,it is so depressing its untrue, i despair,we're champs and still this sort of thing happens, its only gonna get worse aint it ?
