Couldn't have put it any better myself. There have been plenty of other cases down the years where it can be legitimately claimed that Britain should hand over sovereignty of certain countries (Hong Kong being the most recent I can think of), but the Falklands really isn't one of them - primarily because they were uninhabited when the British first settled there of course. As such, it amazes me how so many people continue to doubt our claim to the islands.

We had a lease from China so were legally obliged to give at least some of it back anyway when it ran out and we duly met that obligation

They do it as they are poorly read and thinks it makes them sound trendy.
