Todays Pitch Invasion. City v Swansea

I'm at the front of 118 and I can't see myself going on. A pitch invasion is brilliant when euphoric and spontaneous, but we've had this league wrapped up for weeks.

I feel anyone going on will be attention seeking this time round. Though, who knows, maybe once it's won on the day I'll come to my senses face down in the centre circle.

I take the view of fuck what the club want and fuck what the players want, if the majority of fans want to invade the pitch in a moment of spontaneous passion then good on them. Football has been taken further enough away from the fans as it is, if the occasion warrants it then so be it.

Were you against a pitch invasion at qpr? Which was illegal as you’ve pointed out.

I think the pitch invasion against QPR was understandable and forgivable, but after that not needed and ill advised. No excuse I am afraid.

Can understand it against QPR but not now. Personally prefer seeing the players celebrate than fans running around the pitch taking selfies but each to to their own.

Its been a City 'thing' by celebrating on the pitch where league success is concerned for generations- never with any serious problems.

Certainly our last 3 league titles (1968 Newcastle, 2012 QPR and 2014 West Ham) were followed by memorable celebrations on the pitch.

Our promotions in 1985 (Charlton), 1989 (Bradford) and 2000 (Blackburn) were also celebrated the same way, so was our play-off semi final victory against Wigan in 99.

Im a little old for this now but i confess to trespass in 85, 89, 99 and 2000. If the fans want to enjoy the moment on the pitch after victory to seal the trophy, or even after the last home game then whats the problem? Some who feel the need to dictate how to behave will of course think differently- well have a day off!

Goading the opposition fans or having a go at opposition players is a different matter, lock em up for that!

Ive a feeling when we reach the Champions League final after an epic semi final home win the pitch invasion will happen anyway!!! We will probably get banned from the final!
You missed out after the penalty shoot out v Sunderland in the Full Members cup northern semi final!
Plus Birmingham final home game 2000

Go get bladdered afterwards and that night, let the players and staff celebrate on the pitch.

The players and staff celebrated on the pitch both previous pitch invasions. The fans went on the pitch for a bit and then the players lifted the trophy and walked around. The pitch.

Agree personally, it would show the fanbase has progressed along with the club. There's no point trying to tell people what to do I guess though, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Peps already changed the way we watch games IMO, nobody moans or panics about playing out from the back anymore, you don't tend to hear moans of "it's just side to side passing" anymore, most appreciate how we can beat a press in the middle of the pitch with our passing in fact, they understand it better now.

As big as a PL title is, maybe the natural progression is fans are/will be more used to seeing City win these trophies so pitch invasions aren't needed? I would much prefer fans make it about showing the team and the coaching staff their dues, make it about them not the fans, it's been a real treat this season and it's down to them.

I really don't understand that point - shows the fanbase has progressed '. Can you not be a big club and have pitch invasions ?. Who cares if other big clubs don't have pitch invasions, we aren't like them and it's part of our culture. Should we never have a pitch invasion again ?

This club is as much about the fans as the players and staff. And the players will still be able to celebrate and walk around the pitch just like they have done every other league title win. The previous ones didn't take anything away from the day.

After they had to run down the tunnel followed by security staff immediately after the whistle because of a crowd of unpredictable football fans came running after them.

Let them soak in the moment and live in it there and then, not after they've been ushered away and brought back out after a group of bellends have finally finished chasing a cameraman to get their 5 seconds.

I think you understand it perfectly and did poor job of justifying a repeat reaction of our first PL win... but to spell it out you may be happy stuck in the past others get with the times and realise titles are expected now because we are a big club in every sense.
