Todays Pitch Invasion. City v Swansea

Watched the pitch invasion for the first time today.

Once again our head of security and one of his cronies are being needlessly aggressive towards friendly blues just tryna give vinny a hug or a pat on the back.

These posturing unfit for purpose flat track bullies were of course nowhere to be seen during the Anfield or Wigan incidents when our players were in actual danger and in need of protection

Sack the useless twats

As I've said before I don't really think there was a need for it but you can't really stop people if they feel like it... at least our fans went on to celebrate not harass opposition players or goad opposition fans *cough*Wigan!*cough*.

I still think eventually the majority of blues will get bored of it and the few that try will be left on their own. I can also sort of see why some rivals would poke fun because it does look a bit small time for a club of our current stature. It's what league football clubs do when they win something or get promoted. I don't even remember Leicester doing it when they won the league oddly, maybe it's more the norm here up north?

how is a pitch invasion small time ? the top team in england ( fans) have just done it. should we behave like leicester fans ? or united fans ? and just stand there politely and clap. its a city tradition that hopefully we never see end.

- who cares what other fans think swell

I am not against safe standing, in fact I am for it and agree with your first line, I've signed the petition. :-)

In fact I agree with 99.9% of your post. The thing is that the stewards are now standing whilst the match is progressing and there is no need for that. People won't invade the pitch whilst the match is going on. At the rags match they stood for 20 minutes and they had an extra 5 or 6 stewards there as well, It was torment trying to see through and round them. :-) So it isn't the trophy presentation etc. that I am 'bothered' about just tell 'em to sit down while play is happening!!

That has to have come from City.

City and Showwsec Stewards won't do anything unless they are told to.

You can bring this up in future points of Blue Meetings, which will then be forwarded on to the club.

Whether the club listens is another thing.

TBF, United was always going to be a powder keg, regardless of the result, so the club didn't have much of an option.

It's not a unique tradition though, never has been, never will be. People need to stop fooling themselves with that idea. Like I said it's widely accepted as something you'd expect from clubs who aren't used to winning much on a regular basis or haven't won in a long time, which used to be City but not anymore which is my point. Are we not past that stage yet? Wigan did it ffs, "should we behave like Wigan fans?" Numerous league 2 clubs have done it in promotion seasons and so on.

Also what's wrong with cheering from the stands and singing to the players? Is it really that different and "cool" to walk around the pitch waving to the cameras? Are we that needy for attention as fans? If it's not for attention then what's the fascination with it? Is it really that much fun?

Not sure why you got so defensive about it but it's my opinion on the matter. It's as I said I think those who say it's a bit small time sort of have a point and I hope people get bored of it... hopefully we're going to be frequent winners of major trophies like the premier league from now on, so it will get cringier than the "stomp your feet" song before long.

Lol!

F***ing too right mate.

The most important and famous pitch invasion in PL istory, that was beamed to millions around the World when Kun scored that goal.

I hope the PL title winning pitch invasions stay.

34 years was a long time. :-)

PS.

It's just a pity we never got to Kiev and won the CL. ;-)

Can you imagine doing a pitch invasion after winning the CL. Lol!
