Today's shooting in America thread

That argument would be fair enough, but there is just the trouble of all those military bases around the globe and American companies owning half of global corporate wealth.
We certainly welcome US bases here in Oz, cant rely on Boris and co to help us should China or some other country try to invade.

Can't you arm the kangaroos?

Go make one if you want maybe call it chav culture and knives.
I have no interest in doing that, cant see the point tbh. I dont live there, its got balls all to do with me.
I like where I live, Ive got no reason to complain about other countries, hence my lack of understanding of this thread.

Contact a moderator and ask if it can be removed?

Maybe because it makes news in other countries.

Do you feel the same way about female genital mutilation?

Mods wont remove it, MES seems to empathise with the thread.

I havent seen any ongoing threads about genital mutilation to complain about and I dont understand your question. You mean, do I think we should gloat about it only happening in the USA or some other country and not the one we live in ?

No I mean you don't have a single concern for how unjust laws affect people in countries around the world.

Anti-lgbt laws are alright?

This thread isn't just gloating is it?

I think it took that direction because of the frequency that mass shootings happen and the collective shoulder shrugging that happens in response.

No meaningful action to stop kindergartens being shot up like the O. K. Corral.

TBH I dont see the point of this ongoing thread. Is it an endemic attitude of Brits to criticize American society because Brits feel some sort of superiority through gun ownership being not generally allowed in the UK ?
American laws, constitution and bill of rights has nothing to do with UK citizens, any more than Britain having a Royal family has nothing to do with Americans. Our histories are entirely different.
America is America, how they run their country is their business,

This is a ridiculously comment on several levels, not least the idea that the forum shouldn't have threads on non-British topics.

Perhaps most ridiculous though is the idea that it's a British trait to criticise or talk about how fucked up America is. In my experience it's one of the few topics that united citizens of every country on the planet.

TBH I dont see the point of this ongoing thread.
It was started because at that time there were a lot of shootings, hence a lot of separate threads all discussing the same issue about gun laws in the US.
At one point there were 4 or 5 different threads on different shootings all asking the same questions and discussions.
The easy solution was to create one thread for the ongoing topic.
