Pretty simple.

Decades of doing nothing about loose laws have allowed a demographic to, literally, get away with murder. So, up until laws are re-written (or CRT is addressed) then escalation is always coming.

US society needs rebalancing by any means necessary.

TBH I dont see the point of this ongoing thread. Is it an endemic attitude of Brits to criticize American society because Brits feel some sort of superiority through gun ownership being not generally allowed in the UK ?
American laws, constitution and bill of rights has nothing to do with UK citizens, any more than Britain having a Royal family has nothing to do with Americans. Our histories are entirely different.
America is America, how they run their country is their business, Ive lived there and visited many times since and literally never felt threatened once, but I have felt uneasy and vulnerable at times on some visits to Manchester. (sad to say).
Im a British and Australian citizen and I feel no compunction to talk about or feel smug about how things are done in America. Its their country, who are we to tell them how to run it and what they should be doing.

That argument would be fair enough, but there is just the trouble of all those military bases around the globe and American companies owning half of global corporate wealth.

Bloody hell, only today another one of your ex-colonies just threw off the yoke of its nonagenarian oppressor! Only 14 more to go. :)

I have to agree to an extent. I've visited the States a few times when I worked on the ships and had a great time. On the whole the Yanks loved us and were very friendly. The only time there was a bit of an uneasy time was when we docked in some one horse town called Donaldsonville on the Mississippi River. Some young lads got a bit lippy in a bar but backed down when we fronted them up. We heard one say something about going for his gun but a few older locals told him to pack it in. They left but I must admit I kept one eye on the door just incase

I'm wary now most places at night in the UK, particularly bus and tram stops on my own as they seem to be frequented by mobs of youths and nutters. Maybe I'm just getting old. I grew up in Hulme and Benchill and can still scrap but there are no scruples these days and plenty carry knives. I'm glad guns aren't readily available here because I think I'd be in prison or dead now. A few times when younger and in scrapes and pissed it would have been too tempting to grab the gun and sort people out.

As others have said in the state's it's their culture and I don't see it changing anytime soon.

Really? One of the reasons we don't have that anymore is because of pressure from the USA.
