Today's shooting in America thread

I'm very much on the milder end of the folk with an anti-gun stance, but I feel like most gun ownership really isn't taken up with the true spirit of the 2nd amendment.

How anybody thinks thats a normal family look......................whats the next stop ? Next year for Xmas family photo of them all committing incest and the year after Ma and Pa eating the raw flesh of their offspring?

...neither is true is it? There's no one buying 9mm Assault rifles, so straight away were taking about much bigger ammunition, with higher velocity rounds that do more damage and are much more likely to go through walls and do collateral damage. No one has hollow point ammo for an AR15 style weapon.

They dont have 8-12 round magazines like a handgun, more likely 30+.

Not being in your hand, but braced by a stock against the shoulder means you can shoot them much more quickly even as a semi automatic. Not to mention bump stocks that can turn a semi-automatic AR15 into an automatic - no equivalent for a handgun.


We might not be gun nuts, but come on, don't write comments that insult everyone's intelligence by pretending handguns and assault rifles are the same.

Not insulting anyone.

It’s important that basic terminology, and the actual reasons so many guns are virtually impossible to ban, are understood. Clearly they’re not!

There is the action of the gun and the accessories that change a handgun into the larger firearms that people seem to have greater heartburn over.

Until there are common frames of reference, a discussion of the convoluted laws and technicalities is meaningless.

For instance, what is an assault rifle? Ask 10 people get 11 emotional responses!
