Simple fact is, that for many in the USA, the senseless killing of children is a price worth paying for the individual's right to bare arms.
For many maybe but what baffles me not the majority. Following past atrocities I have seen reportage that says about a third have guns - a few more are mad keen on 2nd amendment rights but the vast majority of politicians are pro gun. When anti gun candidates stand they seems to be the subject of personal attacks ( probably NRA funded ) and effectively priced out of the game. However if the anti gun majority grew some balls and voted in senators and representatives who were anti gun there could be the foundations laid to then take on the gun lobby for once and for all. They don't though.
