Comparing SA to Angola is like comparing The UK to the old Yugoslavia when they were in conflict.

OK, there is a lot of crime in SA but it's not hostage to terrorism.

Exactly. The two countries are litteraly in different parts of the world. There is a lot of crime in SA but they still definitely have the infrastructure to organize the world cup. Angola is a different matter all together.

Would have replied earlier but I was waiting until everyone had their say on how much of a twat I am.I had just been told about it by a mate who said the bus had been shot at but everyone was ok.I stupidly typed the first thing that came into my head on hearing about it and thinking(wrongly as it turns out)that everybody was ok.I'm as sorry to hear about what's happened as anybody else and my heart goes out to the driver and his family.

What I said was obviously purely tongue in cheek and I didn't mean to offend anyone so for that I apologise. However I would dispute that typing one insensitive post now makes me some sort of scumbag but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, well just about anyway.

I've never been to SA but I hadn't noticed anyone trying to kill the England cricket team this last few weeks.

If anything this incident will make the security doubly tight in SA for the World Cup.

i know what your saying but the cricket compared to the football world cup are worlds apart.
im sure terrorists could travel there as its the same continent and all landlocked, and i've got a sneaky feeling we are going to hear stories of fans getting caught in dodgy areas and getting robbed/stabbed or shot. just a hunch.

unfortunately there aint many safe places from terrorists anymore,7/7 9/11 madrid to name a few, also the only terrorist attack i can think of happened in the olympics in munich i think which says it all, i have been to south africa and in most places felt safer than in any city centre in the uk, however places like joburg and durban where i went you have to be careful of where you go, but that can be said of a lot of places

He should be given as long as he needs.

Exactly - you or I have no idea how that experience can affect you.

Ade was involved so will probably be 'hit harder' - he may be able to channel it into playing but may need some time to recover mentally.
