Togo team bus shot at - Adebayor safe {merged}

And WTF about the organisers saying it was a burst tyre?

"Organisers of the event said the team bus had simply burst a tyre, causing panic among those inside. After a second enquiry, organisers said they had no knowledge of the incident"

I know Pam. Players are having surgery as we speak for bullet wounds, the driver is dead and they come out with this. Seriously how stupid do they think we all are.

Should be cancelled with immediate effect. I bet FiFA wont act for days, yet if this was a Major European team, they would be in an emergency meeting now.

On ssn now apparently the gunmen originally went for the coach carrying their baggage, smashing the windshield and killing the busdriver before aiming for the second coach that had the squad on it

the trouble is a lot of african countries are at war or just dangerous as fuck. SA is one of if not the safest and thats not exactly what we would call safe is it?

I've never been to SA but I hadn't noticed anyone trying to kill the England cricket team this last few weeks.

If anything this incident will make the security doubly tight in SA for the World Cup.

But people worry anyway, which in itself could blight the tournament for some. One of the players has had to have surgery, apparently, which is bad enough, but yet more horrifying is that someone has lost his life. If you were on holiday in Egypt and the tour bus came under fire, you wouldn't be hanging around for the rest of your holiday. Straight to the airport. And you'd be in no hurry to go anywhere else in that region, only a few months later, how ever tight the security was promised to be.

Sad but all too true, herts.

Every club ahs their dickheads. There's no point in getting wound up by internet forums, anyone can pretend to be anyone.
However, pointing out that we have dickheads, doesn't make the people that made those comments any less dickheads!

Exactly DLBIA

I would quite happily call the people on this forum the same as i did in my above post. I'm not blind to the fact that some city fans sing songs about munich i've heard them at away games. Just because they are city fans doesnt make it excusable - quite the opposite its unacceptable in my book

This could put the South African world cup in doubt too.

I'm sorry, but did the conflict in former Yugoslavia affect the France '98 World Cup bid?

Should the London bombings mean that we shouldn't get the 2012 olympics?

South Africa has f*** all to do with Angola.

In fact, Cabinda is not even in mainland Angola. It's like something happening in Northern Ireland and worrying about England.

i know what your saying but the cricket compared to the football world cup are worlds apart.
im sure terrorists could travel there as its the same continent and all landlocked, and i've got a sneaky feeling we are going to hear stories of fans getting caught in dodgy areas and getting robbed/stabbed or shot. just a hunch.
